Frodo is introduced to the world in The Fellowship of the Ring as the son of Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck - both who died when Frodo was at the young age of 12. After his parent's death, he was taken in by his mother's family, the Brandybuck clan. Once Frodo turned 21, he was adopted by Bilbo Baggins and referred to him as an uncle, though Frodo was actually Bilbo's first and second cousin once removed.
When described by Gandalf, Frodo was "taller than some and fairer than most, [with] a cleft in his chin: perky chap with a bright eye." Like most hobbits, Frodo had curly brown hair. His skin tone was fair as was the case with most Hobbits of the Fallohide ancestry (due to his mother being a Brandybuck.)
Frodo's birthday was on the 22nd day of September, much like his uncle Bilbo - though 78 years seperated the two hobbits.
