There really are no great games for the Kinect that makes me want one, but if you watched the Happy Hour you would have witnessed Ryan and Will Smith play Fruit Ninja Kinect. I may sound crazy but this looks like the most fun you can get out of your kinect so far, I really want a Kinect now.
Fruit Ninja Kinect
Game » consists of 2 releases. Released Aug 10, 2011
An arcade style game where the player must chop fruit with their hands and feet while avoiding bombs. A Kinect-required XBLA version of the original iOS release.
This looks like the best Kinect game to date.
noIt's undeniably the best downloadable Kinect game to date...
Get it...? Do you get? Do ya? Huh?
Sometimes I hand off my iphone to my 2 and a half year old neice and she would ask "games" so I put up Fruit Ninja on it. It is a simple game but she loves it, just swipe the hands around and she's got it. I Know that if we had a kinect she would be jumping all around the walls with fruit ninja kinect.
Their quick look on the happy hour showed how much fun the game is, I'd love to get it.
its actually a pretty fun game, if you already have a Kinect I'd say at least try the trial version before you just write it off. Hell, it's something to do with my Kinect, other than collect dust. ( and people complain about the 3DS not having any games! )
I'm really enjoying this one so far - I love the precision. There's a huge difference in immersion from the iPhone version - also really looking forward to some multiplayer hilarities.
@Hizang: I'm having a good ol time playing this, I have my head band on and ready... I just wish I could do better at the combo's I don't understand the combos I guess or if I should being using two hands to slice a group or not.
I just messed with the Demo for Fruit Ninja - the gameplay is great, very accurate, fun to use two arms at once and not get weird tracking errors. But GODDAMN the menus are fucking awful, worse than anything I've used on the Kinect so far (which would be the Dashboard, some Fun Lab stuff, CoE, and Adventures). It's shocking that the gameplay is so accurate and I can't get the menu to work without more than 3 swings at what I want.

I gotta agree that CoE is superior to Fruit Ninja, drugs or no.I think Child of Eden would be better, even more so on drugs.
I haven't had any problems with the menu yet. I don't understand how you get crits though from doing research on the net it looks like it's random?
Downloaded it yesterday. Didn't get a chance to play. It does look super fun though. It's probably not the best one but this just shows that the software side is progressing. And looking at Kinect future releases it only looks like it's going to get better.
Your mom is the best Kinect game to date. Seriously though, didn't you hear what Brad said? He said you have to play Fruit Ninja Kinect in fuckin prissssstine conditions. Take livingroom measurements before you buy one. Your mom is hot.
I play in a very dark room where Kinect can only see me to my waist and it works fine. Never trust a Brad. Especially a Shoemaker.
In my opinion you're better off saving the $150 and get yourself an old ps2 eyetoy camera and some games. I recently did this and i was surprised at how accurate the Eyetoy is. There are even some decent games, which are obviously dirt cheap at this point.

I played this with a friend for the first time tonight, and that is proof positive that this is worth the price of entry. It is fun enough on it's own, but the smile it puts on your face with another playing is even better. Kinect owners will definitely want this. I might not put it above Dance Central or Child of Eden as an overall game, but it is up there.
