Why is it called Brothers in Arms ?

Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 or just Furious 4 was originally announced by Ubisoft at their E3 2011 conference as Brothers in Arms: Furious 4. Developed by Gearbox Software, the game puts an Inglourious Basterds spin on World War 2. As of September 2012, Furious 4 is no longer a Brothers in Arms game.
E3 2011: Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 Trailer
Man I love Gearbox back to Opposing Force, but this looks like it suffers from a terrible case of trying to hard
From a Mod on the gearbox forums:
"Savage Seven became the Furious Four. The Furious Four is a derivative sub-brand (a branch, or off shoot) from the Brothers In Arms brand. It is a separate story involving separate characters.
Randy and Brian Martel have mentioned several times in interviews before that we're not done with the story of Matt Baker, Joe Hartsock, Corrion and the rest of the guys from the Brothers In Arms series.
Ubisoft and Gearbox just wanted to try something a little bit different for now to see how it goes."
I don't hate the idea of the game.
I just hate that they slapped the Brothers in Arms name on it.
On a side note I'm kinda getting tired of the exaggerated proportions on characters in games.
IE: Brink, Borderlands, this game.
It was cool when Team Fortress 2 did it, but its getting a little old...
I will reserve judgement until I actually play this game.
This is just my guy reaction after watching this trailer.
Yes. Yes, I do.@Zatoichi_Sanjuro said:
Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Brothers in Arms... Ubisoft just loves taking well respected tactical shooters, and turning them into simplistic garbage for the lowest common denominator.Do you know that the gameplay is changing?
Can't even wrap my head around the fact that this game has "Brothers in Arms" in the title. Clearly, it's all new characters, so perhaps they're still going to continue on a different path with the originals? Hell's Highway left off with them talking about Battle of the Bulge, so I'm just hoping that still happens at some point. This is not a Brothers in Arms game.

What?Took the words right out of my mouth.
Well, word, as it were. But yeah, I agree.
As a fan of Sleigh Bells, the song choice completely took me out of this trailer. Then again, so did the Inglorious Basterds cribbing.
I have no past experiences with previous BIA games, and I doubt I'll be picking up this one either.
FFS, guys. They've put the "Brothers in Arms" name on it b/c it's a WWII game made by Gearbox and Ubisoft. What the hell else would they call it?
This thing obviously screams "Bad Company" offshoot. I know Ubisoft's been pushing its guys to reboot their franchises, but does this really look like a serious 'reboot' to anyone?
Chances are, you'll still get your Baker and Red bromance in the snow game at some later point. Just chill out and see what else comes out of this. It's just a 1 min announcement trailer. Christ.
Somehow this also makes me want to play the more serious last Brothers in Arms game; well, at least it reminds me that I should since I've heard great things.

I think 90% of geeks everywhere collectively said "looks like inglorious bastards." I think that can be considered a good thing?
This. Inglourious Basterds is a great film and plus...it's really fun to not only make fun of Nazis but murder them in ridiculous ways.
