A game compilation is a group of games put together into one package

A game compilation is a group of games packed together in one purchase. These games either cost more or less than games alone depending on the age. It cost $200 to buy Action 52 because all the games were new. It may cost less for game bundles like Unreal and Blizzard bundles because those games are old. Some games like The Orange Box cost as much as one game. There are many games that group up classic games (like the Namco Museum series and the Midway Arcade Treasures series) that can be sold as a bargain bin game (these are great alternatives for buying old games separately on the Virtual Console, Playstation Network, or Xbox Live Arcade). Now you're also able to buy digitally distributed bundles online through Steam and other online retailers (every Valve game ever made is available on Steam in a bundle for $100).

It should be noted that compilations and collections differ because a game is only dedicated as a compilation when all of the games included are running off of the same base software, such as in the Orange Box, Sega Collections and Atari Collections. Other compilations can have games packaged together on different CDs or run as different programs (mostly these compilations relate to PC games, but to other compilations, like Grand Theft Auto Trilogy, Metal Gear Solid Trilogy, and the Resident Evil Pack, all games are packaged together and sold at a cheap price)
