So i first jumped into this game after a friend recommended it, i expected something uber simple and very theme park like, i was pleasently surprised.

There isn't a ton of tutorial bits and bobs in this game which kinda gets you drawn in a little more seeing as you're figuring things out for yourself, i'm just a little worried that i may be missing something in the game and it hasn't bothered to tell me, but that aside this game is easy to pick up and play and you'll soon be on your way to multi-platform blockbuster game stardom.

The game starts you off with little cash and the ability to make PC games, in between games you can then pick up contracts with all different kinds of companies which act as a way of building cash quickly, and trust me you will be needing it, on a games release you will see your cash soar to appreciated levels, but as soon as your games comes off markey you will soon see it crash back down, it's a bummer for the first few games you make but keep them rolling out and you will have no problem.

Along the way through your development career you will encounter press conferences announcing new games consoles from companies like Intendo or Sonny, you heard of those before? thought not. During your time you will also be invited to gaming conventions to show off your games and gain publicity and award ceremonies that you made or may not be nominated for, if you actually manage to win an award you will be rewarded with a cash prize and even more publicity.

Throughout you will hire new staff, better staff, but will have to fire old staff, i found myself attached to a couple of my hired goons whom i used for the majority of my games and to see them go after a while brought a metaphorical tear to my eye, luckily further into the game you get the option to move offices which then allows you to have more staff, therefor you have to fire dudes a lot less which is good news.

The games you make basically have to have a Genre and a Theme, my favourites include Pirate Simulations and Ninja RPG's, they seem to be big hitters and good combinations. you then get to add attribute points to your games which at first you only have a few to use, simplicity and approachability seem to be the best options. You will also need to make sure you roll out a lot of advertising as well to build your fan base and gain more interest. The consoles that get released have licensing, and you have to purchase this licensing before you can start making games for it, some of them are expensive but these are key to selling more and more copies, be warned though, consoles tend to last maybe 2 or 3 years then they stop producing them.

I feel there is little more to say about this game apart from 1 thing, if you plan on having a session on this, make sure you have a lot of time spare, it's hella addictive!

Hold On Just One More Game 0

Lets face it; iPhone games so far have not exactly been the most engaging or fun games made to day. Other then the many fart apps and terrible rip offs of popular online games of the time. The few titles that have been engaging and good tend to appeal to the causal and are simple to the point of boredom. Game Dev Story breaks the mold and makes a really addicting, compelling and really complex game make it one of the best game for iPhone. As the title suggest you are the CEO of a newly formed...

Review: Game Dev Story for the iPhone 0

I seriously can’t stop playing Kariosoft’s newest iPhone experience, Game Dev Story. It has all the ingredients that make up a great iPhone game. You can jump in and out quickly, it has a simple yet fun gameplay system and it has a lot of replayability. It feels kind of dorky to admit, but I’d occasionally find myself thinking about different strategies for the game when I wasn’t playing it. I don’t think I’ve ever been this obsessed with any other iPhone game before. People who are fans...
