    Garuda is the mighty mount of Vishnu. Despite his associations he can be a bit rough around the edges and is often associated with martial matters. He originally interacted with the Gods as an antagonist, trying to steal Amrita from them. He soundly defeated most of them in combat, but Vishnu negotiated with him successfully and he agreed to be Vishnu's mount eternally. He has allowed himself to be ridden by other deities in times of need and is an avowed enemy of all serpents.
