Gears of War was the first XBOX game that, for a second, wished i had a 360. this game is amazing in all ways and as a Sony fanboy, it might have been the best shooter for a console ever! I'm excited for the second one but as I look at the gameplay footage it's more of the same. Just like God of War II it's better than the first but too much of the same... Do you think there should be more changes in this sequel or u love the same-old curb-side stomp like u always had?

I think there's more than enough additions to eliminate deja-vu and keep the GoW feel that we all know and love.

They fixed all problem Gears 1 have and added tons of new features what do you want them to do ?

Yep, the game is amazing. I'm looking forward to the 2nd one.

So far Gears 2 looks like it's done exactly what a sequel should do.  Fix the problems with the previous game, retain the elements that made it great, and add lots of new features.

That kind of the goal for a sequel.   Hulk never understand the logic of "Omg the gameplay is like the first one this game just more of same!!1"

Anyone who would call this Gears 1.5 would be pretty stupid.

Gears of War 2 is going to be how Halo 3 should have been to the previous 2 Halos. Improve on what was wrong with the first game like turning it away from an all shotgun noob fest and adding a ton of new features that the fans want and surprising the fans with new ones. Dont fix whats not broken and thats what Epic is doing.

I'm sorry but I dont get this whole thing some people have today where they will say "yeah it's a sequel alright, but pfft, just more of the same" Which doesnt make any sense, that could be said of every single sequel that exists, there is absolutely no point in a sequel unless it plays a lot like the prior games in that series.

I feel that Epic games are doing exactly what they should, they have said that they will be fixing things that didnt quite work in the original Gears. But they are also adding a lot of new stuff that will no doubt make it feel like you are indeed playing a sequel, and not just a big expansion.
Just off the top of my head i can think of the following that they are adding

-Bigger battles
-Monsters that will make the brumack look like a baby panda
-New weapons, all weapons will have unique execution
-New type of cover in the form of "mobile cover"
-New multiplayer modes and maps
-Updated graphics and improved phsyics
-Deeper storyline as well as a bigger, better and more badass singleplayer campaign ( according to Cliff at least ;) )

To me it seems like they are doing exactly what they should with a sequel.

There are tons of improvements and features in the sequel that I am looking forward to, I have no worries about enjoying the game.

I didnt really quite get what was so good about the first one

but i am still certainly interested in playing the second

 Gears 2 is doing what a good seqaul shood do, fix the weaknesses of the old game and then add a bunch of new stuff. Horde mode alone makes this game better than the first one IMO.

Things that need fixing from Gears 1

-The AI, inparticular the buddy AI
-The host advantage in multiplayer
-The missing chapter in the 360 version of Gears 1
-Plenty of objects that you could not stick to for cover
-The story in the first was nothing short of laughable

I'd have to agree,I mean...I don't think anyone could have enough time to count how many sequels are the same exact gameplay,just with an addition here or there. Obviously if huge gameplay changes are made to any popular game,they risk alienating their fanbase that loved that gameplay,so its between that or completely making their game something else each sequel which definitely is risky in its own respect.

Almost every sequel to a game has the same basic gameplay basically, so I'd say if you were a fan of the first you'll love this one and the improvements done to it,if you weren't its not going to change your mind.

Everyone's saying the same thing about RE5 too,being too much like RE4,you either like the gameplay or you don't,thats my opinion.

Even though I don't have a 360 I think Gear of War 2 looks great. I'm sure it will be one of the best sellers.

After reading the Game Informer article, I'm convinced that this game will own. This won't go down in history as "the sequel to Gears of War"... it'll go down as "Gears of War 2". If you know what I mean...

I hope they put in an option to make the enemies bleed flowers and gib into beach balls like in Serious Sam.

I agree with you except for the god of war II thing. Gears 2 does look too much of the same so im not to hyped over it. I'll still buy it though...

I am looking forward to the game too.

But I know what you mean. When I got R6V2 I thought it would be great, but its too much like the first. I hope gears does not go the same way. they have added some stuff but not much, though fighting more enemies at once will be good.

The only problem I see with it was that when Gears 1 came out, there was no decent competition so everyone loved it. But now will it still get good reviews with fierce competition from other great shooters? It will be interesting to find out.

Cant really think of a major concept they could change that I or other fans of the series would enjoy so keep it the same and fix all the big problems(glitching, wall-bounching, achievement whores, Host Advantage, Party System) So I could really care less.

You really shouldn't be a Fanboy, try to expand on more than what you like

For me, i'm trying to get into Final Fantasy, its going to be a very slow process, but i'm trying at least.

Even if it all looked the same, What is the problem? Do some people expect it to look completely different.

To be a good sequel you don't need to revolutionise, just refine and thats what Gears to is, refinement.
