Gears of War 2 Ending (BIIIIG SPOILERS!)

SO basically I never finished gears 2, I had a shitty xbox live account fuckup and I lost all of my saves, and I was pretty far! Now after watching the new trailer some things don't seem to make sense. So I was wondering if anyone could explain what has happened. From what I remember, I was going to fight some Queen, and there was a scripted fight where you would pull some leavers and the cover would move, could someone explain the story from after that point? 
 
Also forgot to attach it to the GOW2 section :3

  1. Go to www.Giantbomb.com 
  2. Oh wait, you did that.
  3. Go to the Gears of War 2 page.
  4. Oh whops, done.
  5. Go to the overview page on Gears 2.
  6. Look for the section called "Plot"
  7. There you go.
