For those that have completed it already, I need to decide which game to get tomorrow; Fallout 3 or Gears 2. I'm currently inclined towards Gears 2, but the question is: will the singleplayer keep me busy for about 5 days? I know the multi will be a good timefiller as well, so that's good.

Every review and person I've heard from says it runs approximately 10 hours.

Yeah, I've heard around 8-10 hours.

That's about right...10 seems to be pushing it a little, though.  I think it took me around 8, at the most.

But this is only really if you focus on the main story. The sidequests and things will add on a significant chunk of time.

Haha, side quests.  I guess going around and collecting everything could add some length to Gears 2, although that isn't exactly something I consider fun.

Yeah, I heard roughly about 10-12 hours (I guess it's all about your play style).

Guys did you not even read the post?  I finished Gears 2 yesterday, it clocked in just under 8 hours or so.

its probably longer but it seems much easier than the last game am playing on normal ..just dying here and there at certain spots..but other than that it seems to be pretty easy

Get Gears if you have Xbox Live, then when you're tired of multiplayer get Fallout, it's not getting any worse a game if you wait a couple of months -trust me it's brilliant -whereas with Gears you'll miss out on the bulk of online joy if you don't get it now.

I can't get into Gears 2 the same way that I couldn't get into Gears 1.  It's not that it's a bad game, because by all means, I can tell that Gears 2 is designed very well.  It's just not what I want.

I finished Gears of War 2 on co-op (Hardcore difficulty) in 8 and a half hours.

If you want a short highly polished game get Gears but if you want a beast of a game thats real buggy get fallout.
