Seriously matchmaking? The only reason I hate Halo is matchmaking. They only reason I get irritated at COD is matchmaking. Now they took the perfect online setup that Gears 1 had and gave it MATCHMAKING!? I can't leave a match in the middle of it. No jump in and out just to have some fun. No playing multiple games with a few guys you can get to know. No playing unranked and playing on your favorite map to just mess around. No FUN! I'm so upset right now. I love Gears, and I loved Gears multiplayer. But this... this isnt gears multiplayer. This is crap and I'm very upset...

Im glad people can't just quit now. And you can still pick your favourite  maps and mess around with friends. Just host a private xbox live match and when it asks for map selection choose the option where the host decides.

Didn't realise Gears 2 has matchmaking. Well that's a real bummer, jumping into your chosen game like in the first Gears is definitely the best way of doing it.

and his complaint is 100% vaild, hey if you don`t agree with it fine, you don`t have to be a dick about it, your e-peen isn`t getting any bigger.

I never played ranked in the first Gears, and that's because I loved being able to freely join and leave any game at my will. The whole experience of it, and like Prime20 said, not being able to play through 18 rounds with the same group of people is frustrating, that made the first Gears multiplayer so special.

I was kinda weirded out by the matchmaking at first, but it really isn't that big a deal.

I'll take match-making any day.  I would consider Gears 2 a failure if they didn't incorporate a feature that makes it much more user friendly to get into an online match. 

Matchmaking has its ups and downs:

Ups: Always with a group that you can just cruise from map to map.

Downs: Can't control much.

My biggest gripe is the lack of being able to choose. I don't like the game picking shit for me, deciding what is right. That's always been a pet peeve.

I really don't understand the point of them changing it so much from the first Gears. Don't fix what isn't broken, you know?

I agree like halo, the time it takes to get into a game is ridiculous. I never had a problem with cod and its matchmaking.

also the ranking up ranking down is retarded makes everyone freak the fuck out like in halo. I dont want to hear people on my team whining like bitches because their precious rank will go down.

O and the no quitting thing. Thats just bullshit. If i get stuck in a game with a 600 ping because i live in aus, i should have the option to quit out, because its very fucking likely ill caus the team more harm than good.

I'm fine with match making as long as they fix it and it doesn't take all day to fucking find a match.
