I'm watching the movie "Pitch Black" right now. The monsters are flying out of their holes and swarms the first victim, tearing her to shreads. Bat-like creature that's afraid of the dark. Sounds familiar doesn't it.

yes, as for that the kryll are native to the planet they are on, The Humans are the invaders. then again i maybe confusing it with lost planet.

oh yeah. I thought you were going to give everyone some indept Gears backstory claiming how the kryll came to be, because I would have to laugh and just say "uh no, they just watched pitched black was all" :P

Seeing that the movie was released in 2000, it's the earliest Kryll-like creature I know. Just wondering where those guys came up with the concept. Then again there was the Hithcock's 1963 classic "The Birds"....Come to think of it, there's a bunch of places where they can get the idea of a killer nocturnal swarm :/
