And on a fun note, Ice-T and Jace Hall called up Cliffy B during the filming of an episode of The Jace Hall Show. The setup was that Jace told Ice-T that he was a character in Gears, and Ice-T wanted to know a. if it was true and b. if he could be in the next Gears game. I suppose Cliffy made his wish come true.

Yes they are news. Many of the things he has posted, I haven't heard of before. Because I don't visit any other sites. So why complain when the news gets posted here? It's ridiculous to complain that GiantBomb has news now.
@CL60: You're in the vast minority. The stuff they've been posting is days old by the time it hits the site, and has been on other major blogs already. I have no problem with newsworthy stories. I wouldn't be majoring in journalism if I didn't have a passion for news.
For instance, the announcing of inFAMOUS 2 and the next Red Faction are prime examples of newsworthy events. Obviously, the whole Call of Duty/Infinity Ward fiasco was major news.
Taking a press release from the new Guitar Hero game and using quotes from suits as your attributions? Not news. I came to this site to escape the constant news updates of pointless games that nobody in their right mind would play. However, it looks like the days of "NEW FREE TO PLAY MMO ANNOUNCED" is here to stay.

Also, PR releases ARE news. You wanna know why? Because while they are one sided, they are one sided because no one knows anything else. So what, we should just keep them hidden away for no one to see? Your right, press releases are evil, and they SURE AS HELL never include previously unknown information, nor have information to which others can attest to through observations beyond the press release in question.
Also, I hate Ice T as a voice/face in any sort of plot based entertainment. Has he ever done a ballad? I probably hate that too. If the game has his face in it, I just might have to kill- On second thought, that would be pretty kick ass...
I find it funny after all these complaints about the new writers at GiantBomb not doing a good job that Jeff goes and breaks massive news in one fell swoop... heh
