I was pissed when the helicopter crashed and man I was out for blood on the queen after that. I thought cause you didn't see an explosion that maybe Carmine survived but I wasn't sure and I let out a "yeah!" when he was still alive. Great fucking moment that was.

Also, when a random Gear gets his arm ripped off, did anyone else think that was Carmine? I was nervous near the end of the game cause he was missing for a while and thought that it might have been him that died earlier on.

I thought the same about arm ripped off guy. They really should have used Carmine more. Maybe he'll get a dlc mission pack or something to fill in the blanks.

As for what got me excited, I really liked playing as Cole and getting a sense of what life was like before e-day in his home town. Overall, I think the opening act was the strongest of the bunch.

They did the carmine stuff the entire game to make you think it was him. Then he would pop up and say HEY. It got old fast.

Definitely the Lambent Berserker fight. I had a full party of four dudes and that fight seriously lasted upwards of a half hour. What a blast.

This is easily the highlight of the campaign, especially if you factor in the entire section proceeding it.

Cole's flashback on the field is my number one, though the Ash Man sequence is a close second.

Which reminds me, I'm suprised you never got a chance to play as Dom or Baird. The mission where he dies would have been the perfect mission to play as Dom and the part where you were flying the gas thingy for Baird.

The only parts that i really enjoyed above the rest was the battle at anvil gate and Marcus' fuck you moment to Griffin

What I'm confused about is this whole crap with the fuel that goes on for like 2 acts. After the battle at anvil gate, they break the encryption and find the hidden island of Azura and baird says the only way to get there is by submarine. Hoffman suggests where to get one and dizzy's like he can run it, fix it and fuel it and Dom jumps in and says to go to Mercy or Char for fuel because Mercy has the imulsion pumping station and Char has the refinery. Ok so far so good...

They go to Mercy and then Dom dies and destroys the fuel. They then go to char. Griffin tells them to get the fuel back and they can keep some. They do it and after Marcus' rant Anya says lets get the fuel back to the truck we have a submarine to find. Ok so far so good...

They show a cutscene of them riding out to the place (endover i believe?) to look for the sub. Then when you find the sub Dizzy says it has no fuel and no rotor and when you choose the go find fuel path, they literally go find new fuel on a ship in the area. WTF?

What was the purpose of the fuel from Char? Did i miss something?

If by whole game you really mean two times at the beginning of the game and one time at the end, yes you're right... they did do it the WHOLE game.

It didn't get old though... because that would have required more than three close calls.

The fuel that Dom blows up is EMULSION.

The fuel that you get from Ice-T is for the truck,

and the submarine fuel is submarine fuel. These are all different things.

@I_smell: The emulsion that blows dom up was suppose to act as fuel for the submarine which is why they had the tankard with them when they went to mercy....to fuel it for the submarine

I don't recall them explaining that the gas from Griffin/Char was for the trucks although that's the most probable assumption to make and if so but that means

    a) they knew that they'd be able to find submarine fuel and/or
    b) The concept of submarine must not have been that important if the fuel they get from Char isn't even for the submarine so...

that means the whole concept of bringing the tankard and ultimately have Dom kill himself was essentially for nothing

The end where you thought Carmine died but it turns out he was alive. I had a feeling they wouldn't kill him off like that right when the chopper went down. Just the way they did it was really fishy to me. Then the level where Dom basically commits suicide to save everyone else. Shit was getting hot for a minute and I was thinking "they better bring a chopper in here or someone better get creative or we're fucked" and then BOOM! Thought that ended that chapter perfectly.

Easily my favourite part of the game, as well as seeing Carmine survive.

Defending that one stronghold where Hoffman and his daughter were at. A great balance between feeling absolutely badass while being brought to the brink of hopelessness at the same time.

I played the first two as Dom in co-op exclusively & I've read all the side stories so seeing Dom die was pretty emotional. So that scene when Baird and Cole get off the chopper and Marcus has to tell them was a good scene. I'm glad Carmine survived but I didn't feel they really matched that moment afterward. Oh also Hoffman reaching out to help Marcus up was kind of cool moment too.
