I just tried the demo and decided to buy it, so far this game is way beyond my expectations.

The setting, story and mood is fantastic so far.
The music even rivals the masterpiece soundtrack of Machinarium although less "out there" ;)

Having gone through about 10 point n click adventures the last years trying to get the love back for the genre, this is the game that did it !

An adventure point and click indie game not receiving praise? Probably because most people have never heard of it.

Never heard of it.  And I have a feeling that no one else has either.

It sounds vaguely familiar. Admittedly I only remembered it when I read this topic.

I have it on my computer, still not played it yet. I love point-and-click adventure games more than any other genre but you need to be in the right mood for them. It looks great, though.

It looks interesting, I'll probably try it when I have less games to play

Edit: So I watched the trailer, and it looked interesting enough that I decided to buy it. I hope it's worth the $15.

I heard about it in a regular swedish newspaper, which seemed odd considering I had not heard about it in any of my regular gaming-sites (GB, 1up, IGN etc).

Most people haven't heard of it. Although, I've heard of it and was actually intending on buying it, but the demo seemed a bit lackluster and I never got around to getting it :(

I'm considering a purchase. But yeah, it's not surprising a game that began as a student project hasn't generated much coverage.

@BeachThunder:  If Gemini Rue was published by Valve it probably wouldn't have a problem getting some recognition. I wasn't intending to slight the game, it's just not surprising to me that crappy mainstream games journalism hasn't covered it.

Edit: Rock Paper Shotgun has some cool articles about the game though. For anyone who's interested, read on.

It's just another case of a cool game not having a big enough marketing/ad campaign. Word-of-mouth doesn't seem to be doing enough.

There was talks of trying to get it on steam, hopefully that happens. Steam would really help in getting this game the attention it deserves.

Dave Gilbert posted on the @WadjetEyeGames Twitter account that Steam rejected GEMINI RUE (but they apparently never give reasons).

It's a shame it won't get the Steam audience but I hope the ground support and spotlights such as the Quick Look that just went up will help shine some light on this amazing game.
