Geno in Superstar Saga?

Not sure if I just missed a clever reference or cameo or something but was Geno actually in Superstar Saga?

Very small cameo in one of the casino games.

He only makes a small cameo in the Star 'Stache Smash minigame.

He was in the credits, too. Something about copyrights, I don't know. He wasn't a character, anyway.
