This game is very colorful and there are many exploding things. There's a lot of visual stimulus going on at all times. It's very pleasurable, even when the gameplay is frustratingly hard. I'm not very good at these types of games, and I don't think they're very fun.
I want to compare it with the PSN games I've been playing lately. Stuff like Echochrome, PixelJunk Eden, fl0w. Those games are trying to be art, and I appreciate them for that. But really they kind of give me a headache and they're not that fun to play. As I mentioned before, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 is also not that fun to play, but the audiovisual experience is pleasurable. It's not an artful game, it's more like porn for your eyes and ears (as opposed to porn for your genitals).

At the end of 2003, “Project Gotham Racing 2” by Bizarre Creations was released for the Xbox. While browsing their garage, the players could walk up to an old-school arcade machine and play a 2D dual-stick shooter entitled "Geometry Wars". To celebrate “Project Gotham Racing 3”, Bizarre Creations released “Geometry ...

Finally Geometry Wars feels like a complete game...

I was a big fan of the first release of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved on XBLM but after a while the game could become repetitive.Well forget about that for a second, this new version of Geo Wars is all about variety. Without going outside of the concepts that define these ...
