Wait, part of the fun is to not be playing the games you purchase? That doesn't make any damn sense to me, but I guess people have different opinions about what is considered "fun".
Also, Empire Earth: Gold is free for the next 48 Hours
@The_Hiro_Abides: Yeah, seems like shit's getting hammered right now. Took me a few minutes just to get to checkout.
@ZeForgotten: Haha, I was just kiddin'. It's actually sort of dumb, but I can't help it. I do it with Steam sales as well. I'll play most of them at some point, but some of these will be on the backlog for a long time.
Grabbed a few games I've been wanting for a while.. Ceaser 3, Populous 2, Simon the Sorcerer and some of the Ultima games.
Probably would have bought a few more if I had more spare cash, but the Steam sales should be starting soon too. Oh, and Empire Earth is a great game, everyone should get that while it's free.
I was going to buy Fallout, but then I took a sip of coffee and the rational part of my brain woke up.
Nice I might buy a couple......The Last Express for $3? Sold.
Picked up:
Fallout 1 and 2
Baldur's Gate II complete edition
Icewind Dale 1 and 2 complete edition
Arcanum
The Last Express
Sanitarium
Planescape Torment
Gabriel Knight
Freescape 2
Ultima VII complete
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
And half of these I own in boxes somewhere. GOG versions are so good, though.
You know you all want Shogo.
Actually I am so tempted to get a bunch of the Interplay RPGs, but I havent even gotten past the first area of Planescape Torment when I bought it months ago.
I really want to play Fallout 2, but I don't want to deal with how difficulty worked in old PC games. Is there a piss-easy difficulty I can hit so I can just have fun in the story? The old obligatory min-maxing and quicksaving/quickloading every turn to make sure it goes perfect doesn't interest me anymore.

Yeah, both Fallout games have difficulty.
I'm replaying Fallout 1 right now and it runs great, looks pretty cool with the high res mod, and isn't impenetrable with it's difficulty at all. And I'm playing on normal. Could go down even lower to easy. Worth going through, imo.

Bought Wing Commander 3 and looking for more great FMV games. Help me out GBers! Are we talking great FMV games or "great" FMV games?
Aren't all FMV games, "great"?
@hwy_61: I legitimately love the Soviet and Nuclear Strike games for the Playstation. They are on the American PSN (at least) if you really want them but you might want to watch a couple minutes of this lets play first (void of annoying voice over thank god).
Great now I'm going to those games.

@hwy_61 said:@evildeadron@damswedon Good point. How about your FAVORITE FMV games??Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh is all sorts of great and only $3.
And by that you mean "great", right? Because from what I've seen of Spoony's LP, it seems like it even out-FMVs the first Phantasmagoria, for as hard as that sounds coming off Dave and Vinny's accidental LP.
Personally, I've already made myself victim to GOG sales too many times, so it was fairly easy to actually stay in my personal limit this time... mostly because I already have pretty much everything of note. I got myself some Ultima, some Wing Commander, and Dungeon Keeper 2, which doesn't seem to want to run on my system. And already, almost immediately, Ultima VII has shown itself to have pretty much every old game anachronism seemingly designed to specifically bug me. Will continue playing though.
Rayman 2 and 3 for 3$ each. Well....rayman 2 basically REQUIRES a gamepad and the xpadder program. Keyboard only, and you can't remap the controls. As well as pretty good games like shogo or XIII. Can't really pass it up. If you don't already own some version of it, 3$ for the original duke isn't half bad
And...not sure if the sale is still there, but 23$ for both witcher games the past few days was pretty amazing.
Like its been said before, all FMV games are "great" and Phantasmagoria 2 is up there.@Icicle7x3 said:
