Woah lets not go insane here. Goldeneye was good for a console game back in the old days. It was no where near perfect.

Because it's trying to be symbolic. Coming full circle, almost. Nintendo innovated console shooters with Goldeneye back in the 90's, and now, they'll be innovated on Nintendo again in 2010. 
 
At least that's their angle.

By todays standards GoldenEye is close to unplayable.
Don't get me wrong, It used to be my second favorite console FPS.....   like 12 years ago

Nostalgia only works for some games, but not Goldeneye. Try playing it now, and it's infuriating.

I'd agree that I'd rather see an HD re-release Perfect Dark style on XBLA, however I'm still going to buy and play this version of Goldeneye, it looks 'hella fun.'

Because its nowhere near perfect. Going back to that game's multiplayer is gonna be an eye opener for you.

ok its not perfect, i agree, no game is, but it being my favorite game ever, this is just very disappointing, and i still play it every now and then, and i still LOVE the multiplayer, bring back so many good memories

If people took off their rose tinted glasses they would see Goldeneye for what it is now,a game that was groundbreaking at the time but it has not aged well.Perfect dark didnt go well when it was released on XBLA.

Time did not help Goldeneye.

no shooter is more authentic than goldeneye 007 for nintendo 64.

Goldeneye is FAR from perfect. It was an impressive achievement for it's time because it was released on a console and was actually a playable FPS. But there were far better FPS games released the same year, or even before Goldeneye, on PC. That, and the game has aged horribly.

Yeah, Goldeneye was far from perfect, and it doesn't seem to be that accurate of a remake as far as I can tell. I'm totally excited and think it looks great.

Perfect Dark for XBLA was the way to go, made better, solid online, sold cheap.
 
This wasn't made for fans, this was made for money.

I can think of a pretty good reason why Goldeneye wasn't perfect...

Lets face it, Perfect Dark on the other hand, was Perfect.

Nothing gets my dick harder than watching other dudes talk about how GoldenEye gets their dick hard.

I'm more annoyed at the fact that they're using Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan.
Ruins any sort of continuity or nostalgia.

Goldeneye wasn't perfect.  Fun, yeah.  Important, sure.  But not perfect.  And it sure as hell didn't age well.
