Are you gonna play Goldeneye?

#1 Posted by Emilio (3380 posts) -

Well? Are ya? Interested? Not interested? Nostalgia got your tongue?

I'm fighting myself if I should drop $70 on the gold Classic Controller Pro bundle.

I mean, I like Call of Duty (and I know you do too), so I'm not sure if I should just skip this and try Black Ops (which  I'm sure is just more Call of Duty) or go pick up Call of Duty 4 on ... gasp...Wii... uughh such shame!

I don't have a Wii, but may rent the DS one on Gamefly.

Maybe.  I'm not a big FPS fan in general, but GoldenEye was one of the few games in the genre that I played the hell out of, particularly in multiplayer.  From what I played at PAX, the local four-player split screen mode is a blast, so I might let nostalgia win me over on this one.

Also, I could use another Classic Controller Pro.  If a fun game comes along with it, all the better.

But I do have an N64! I'll go buy a copy of Goldeneye right now.

I would if I had a wii, probably.

Nah, don't have a Wii to play it on and even if I did probably wouldint buy it. I'm sure it will do really well, but if I want to play Goldeneye, I'll play Goldeneye.

No. I have a Wii and this game does not interest me at all.

#9 Posted by Claude (16254 posts) -

I'm thinking. I remember the single player from the original. It was worth the price alone.

I'm thinking yes. I want it. Fuck the mutliplayer multipliers. I'm thinking the single player could play a game worthy of being played.

I have no interest in Wii games, so probably not.

So general, and sad at the same time. Video Games not played is one thing, but to hate ones not played is another.

It looks like a lot of fun, but there are too many games coming out.  Maybe someday, Daniel Craig.

It's one I intend to rent, that's for sure.

Considering Quantum of Solace was a massive piece of doodoo, I think I will save my money.

#15 Posted by PerryVandell (2103 posts) -

I already did, BOOM! But seriously, Goldeneye was great when it came out, but now it seems the game is being carried on its nostalgia. I really enjoyed playing goldeneye on the N64, but I don't want to pay for it again on the Wii.

My face when I enjoyed Quantum of Solace AND played it online for PC.

I am fighting myself...I'm incredibly tempted to just drop the money for a Wii and get GoldenEye and all the other games like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros and so on.

MUST..FIGHT...TEMPTATION.

@Cloudenvy:
You want a Wii because you want to play different games.
Search your feelings, you know this to be true.

Honestly no. I thought that quick look looked really fun, but I only have one classic controller, and I haven't even used that. The Wii is virtually dead to me, and I doubt Goldeneye will get me to play with it again.

Nooooooooo!

I can fight it!

I don't need a Wii, I can live without all the cool games..Right?...Right?!

Don't be so fucking stupid.

Are any of you actually serious? It looks like the biggest pile of shit ever made. The days of Goldeneye are over and Activision is trying to cash in on it in possibly the most awful way imaginable. Anyone who buys this will be sullying the good name of Bond, James Bond.

Also you're a dumbass it's nothing to do with Quantum of Solace numbnuts. That's like saying "Halo Wars sucked so I won't buy Reach", the games aren't even comparable, they're just thematically similar.

@Raymayne:
Am I being stupid? I mean the game by itself will be $50 and a the CC Pro controller by itself is $20. Its not like I'm being ripped off.

OR IS IT?

HA HAHA

@Cloudenvy:

Why are you asking me? Of course you can live without all the cool games.

P.S.
My face when I also enjoyed 007 Nightfire.

 It has enough to do with Quantum of Solace. It's another half assed Call of Duty game with a James Bond skin published by Activision.

I see a tank and killing a guy while he is on the toilet, I am pleasantly happy

No. Solely because they replaced Pierce Brosnan with Daniel Craig. Not even because of Craig hating (though I still do not think he was the right choice, and still do not like Casino Royale at all), I just don't think it's right to replace an actor just because of contractual stuff.

Not sure yet, most likely though, was a big fan of the orginal.

#31 Posted by Castro (951 posts) -

I'm gonna play Goldeneye and I'm pretty excited. Particularly for some good old-fashioned four-player split-screen FPS action. I believe that they have multiple Bonds in multi-player as well. I have dibs on Lazenby!

#32 Posted by FreakAche (2951 posts) -

Am I going to play a second-rate FPS that has absolutely no ties to the people who made the game that it's named after?

#33 Posted by Shaanyboi (1281 posts) -

Down the road, sure.  But right now, not on my "get right now" list.  I still have to finish Bioshock 2 before Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood comes out.  And then its Epic Mickey, and Golden Sun...  And my schedule doesn't really lend me much time to get through all these.
