Link to the Steam page - http://store.steampowered.com/app/232430/ £7.49 in the Queen's currency. Thanks for the heads up, stiillll may be a bit too expensive for my blood. Once it hit's that 5ver sweet spot I'll give it a go.

It's also on sale on their official site at the same price. I believe more/all of the money goes directly to the developer that way than through Steam.

Also the game got an update on Steam today and added a free Commentary Mode for the game as well.

Just saw that. I grabbed it. Good thing I didn't buy it like I was going to when it came out because I would've been really pissed with this going on sale so soon!

Isn't this one of the games you get for free on PSN soon?

Is Gone Home on PSN?...I thought it was PC only?

Not on PSN you must be thinking about another game, only Personal Computer, Macintosh, and Penguin OS

Penguin OS

Sounds like a cereal.
Anyway, definitely go pick this up if you're into explore 'em ups.

And Chris Remo's soundtrack for the game is also available for $7 (or more if you want). It's a great soundtrack. It gets me emotional just listening to it. The link is on the Gone Home site front page.

I was lucky enough to have 20 bucks in steam trading card money, so I picked it up when it first came out.

#13 Edited by Barrock (3551 posts) -

Buying it from their site gives you a Steam key. So go straight through them. :D

#14 Posted by BisonHero (6790 posts) -

Meh, I'll buy it during the Steam Holiday Sale, where presumably all of my purchases will count towards sweet, sweet event-based trading cards. Plus it'll probably be cheaper then. Even knowing that this game is super well written and voice acted and whatever, I still think it's super overpriced for what it has to offer.

Want to get it but already have too much on my plate. Will wait for another sale.

#16 Posted by RonGalaxy (3262 posts) -

I was confused by why you tagged me in the OP, but I quickly realized you did it because I asked about whether I should play it or not recently. That's really cool that you thought to remind me, so thank you!! I actually just got it before I saw this thread, but thanks anyway!!

Waiting for <$5.

Thanks. Was waiting for this to happen.

Games at the $20 price point on Steam seem to rarely ever get discounted more than 75% unless the devs are really backed into a corner by how bad the game sold initially, so I feel like the absolute lowest you might get it for is like $5.

Or a Humble Bundle. Actually, has that happened yet? I swear it did.

#21 Posted by stryker1121 (1565 posts) -

Sweet, I'll be picking this up today. Will this ever come down to $5 during Holiday Sales and so forth? I'm not going to quibble over a fiver.

#22 Posted by MarkWahlberg (4606 posts) -

Noice. Gonna try to nab this later tonight, maybe get that Stanley thing all the kids are talking about.

#23 Posted by dcgc (878 posts) -

Still overpriced. I'll get it bellow 3€.

#24 Posted by Hunter5024 (5896 posts) -

This game is definitely worth $10.

#25 Posted by CynicalBuzzard (240 posts) -

I am definitely thinking about getting the game.

#26 Posted by Octaslash (564 posts) -

It was totally worth $20. This is a steal. They also added some pretty entertaining in-game commentary recently.

I just finished Minerva's Den..... these guys are seriously talented. I'm tempted to pick it up.

@bigjeffrey: I moved this into the correct forum - please don't lump everything into General if you can help it, it'll lighten the workload on us big time. Thanks.

On Sale for $5 on Steam. HOLY SHIT

#31 Posted by thebunnyhunter (1472 posts) -

A great deal for this gem of a game. Every time im think im not gonna participate in the steam sale then pull me back in.

#32 Edited by RoyaleWifCheese (559 posts) -

An absolute steal. Definitely made my top ten this year.

And I paid full price for it.

#33 Edited by RonGalaxy (3262 posts) -

One of my all time favorite games. Yes, I called it a game, and you can't do a thing about it!

It was a steal when I paid 10 dollars for it, and this is an even better deal. I highly recommend playing it on a dark rainy night with headphones on like I did. A fantastic experience

One game better than Brothers on the year.

#35 Posted by Mcfart (1712 posts) -

This should've been its starting price. Too bad for them that most people forgot about the hype on its release.

#36 Posted by TheHT (11670 posts) -

I'm skeptical about this whole thing, but I'll bite. Don't care about the game vs. not game argument, just hope it's not too obvious or pretentious.

Well, you certainly have more agency than some other games:

#38 Posted by SirOptimusPrime (2030 posts) -

I can concur that this game is well worth the asking price. Even at full price, and now... fucking most definitely buy this game.

#39 Edited by NoCookiesForYou (765 posts) -

Holy crap. I saw this on sale and I thought to myself why not. I was going in thinking this was going to be some kind of horror game, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. Once I started playing it I couldn't stop.

What a beautiful and touching story. I don't remember ever playing a game that had a story that felt so, dare I day it: real. Definitely one of my top 3 games from this year.

I bought it when it was on sale for $10. I wish I had waited, since it was still overpriced then.

#42 Edited by SomberOwl (709 posts) -

Maaaaan I'm so on the edge of getting this. Is it a 2013 must play?

#43 Posted by BigJeffrey (5141 posts) -
#44 Posted by TubaCroc (10 posts) -

If you haven't played it by now you might as well just wait for the inevitable Humble Bundle.

#45 Posted by Hunter5024 (5896 posts) -

This game is definitely worth 5 dollars.

#46 Posted by billymagnum (837 posts) -

i only bought it because i highly doubt it will be cheaper during the steam sale which is supposed to be tomorrow i believe!

#47 Posted by SomberOwl (709 posts) -
#48 Posted by Trilogy (2682 posts) -

Just picked it up. Doing some holiday last minute GOTY gaming! I'm gonna blast through it tonight unless somebody wants to make a case that I should play it in shorter bursts.

i only bought it because i highly doubt it will be cheaper during the steam sale which is supposed to be tomorrow i believe!

Samesies! And even if it was cheaper, it would be a marginal difference. 5 bucks is kind of my folding point on games that I'm interested in.

#49 Posted by billymagnum (837 posts) -

@trilogy: maybe not short bursts, i suggest just don't go so damn fast! don't rush just experience it. look around every nook and cranny, try to break it or just goof around. that usually helps draw out shorter games for me. its like you know it won't last long so savor it and try to take away as much as you can before its over.

#50 Posted by MB (12915 posts) -

Picked this up from the Humble store earlier - isn't the game only two hours long or so? I'm totally playing this tonight.
