A PC centric Digital Distribution platform that is dedicated to good old games without DRM. GOG also offers soundtracks, manuals, avatars, and other related content of the game purchased.
GoG.com is a sale and distribution service for good, old PC games (hence the title) and is owned by CD Projekt, a Polish company. It was launched in late 2008.Features
- Offers critically acclaimed games from major publishers (such as Adventure Soft , Codemasters and Ubisoft) that may not be available for purchase in stores anymore.
- Games that cost either $5.99 or $9.99 depending on what the publisher sets the price at. The price does not change depending on where you live.
- There is no Digital Rights Management (DRM) on the games, so when you buy the game you actually own it. You can install it on any PC and re-download it whenever you want, as many times as you need, and can play without an internet connection.
- All games are compatible with Windows XP and Vista.
- You get extra materials with your purchase for free, ranging from guides and walkthroughs, soundtrack and interviews, wallpapers and artworks and "making of" videos.
- A community that allows you to rate and review games, and discuss your favourite old games on the message board.
