    Overview

Goro Majima is the patriarch of the Majima Family within Kamurocho's Tojo Clan. Originally, however, Majima used to be a low-ranking Yakuza, alongside his brother-by-blood Taiga Saejima, who both got punished for their attempted assasination plot against the Ueno Seiwa clan. In Yakuza 0 Majima was kicked out of the Tojo, as a result of his actions, and forced to serve the Omi Alliance lieutenant Tsukasa Sagawa as the owner of a Cabaret Club named The Grand.

His role as the "Lord of the Night" is to cash-in a profit for the Omi Alliance, as a token of good will from his former Tojo Captain and Sagawa's blood-brother Futoshi Shimano. Majima was a lieutenant for the Shimano Family before it disbanded in Yakuza 2. He is the long time rival of Kazuma Kiryu, whom he shares an unspoken bond with as he commonly refers to Kiryu as "Kiryu-chan" or "Kazzy-kun". Majima left the Tojo Clan in Yakuza 2 in order to create his own construction company that is responsible for Kamurocho Hills. He then returns to the Tojo Clan after Kiryu requests he look after Daigo Dojima in his absence. The origin of how Majima lost his eye is explained in Yakuza 4 as he is kidnapped while trying to help Taiga Saejima during his assassination on a rival gang.
