Justin Calvert of gamespot.com gives Gram Turismo 5 an 8.0.
"This accessible but realistic driving simulation is both sublime and subpar."
The Good:
* Accessible and rewarding for newcomers and veterans alike
* Uncompromisingly realistic handling
* Loads of great cars to drive and varied courses to drive them on
* License tests are no longer mandatory
* Premium cars are incredibly detailed.
The Bad:
* Quality of visuals is wildly inconsistent
* Outdated and impractical online lobby system
* Too easy to win early races simply by entering in a powerful car.

Gamespot's review is online
11 out of 10 for me lol
Just kidding, couldn't give a shit about GT, or gamespot for that matter, but from what I've seen of the game they seem to be right on the mark.
I'm still trying to find out how this game is getting such great reviews while anyone who watched the quick look can tell that it's garbage. Regardless of the crappy menus, the gameplay looks so boring and realistic that I'd rather just go out for a drive in real life. Add on the lack of polish (no damage, YOUR CLOCK IS WRONG etc.) and you have a steaming pile of excrement.
Sounds like an 8 review to me. Surprisingly well written for what amounts to a games tabloid BOOM, ZING, BA DUM BUM, roasted! No but seriously, I stopped caring what any site other than Giantbomb said about games around the time Gamespot fired this guy named Jeff Gerstmann for not supporting advertisers with a high game score. In fact, both Gamespot and IGN can review my nuts any day of the week.
I click the guys name and it says 505 error. He also has the Giantbomb logo as his name, and this is a really well written little mini review post. Do review sites create accounts and seed reviews on competing websites? Just wondering, whether this guy is or not, anyone heard of anything like that? Seems stupid to me.

"Gram Turismo=/ the rest is copied from the review.
The Camaro I just bought was tuned and bumped to almost 700HP. I'm fucking raping everyone in single player.
It didn't get a 10? Sounds like a certain reviewer was too stupid to set his clock and took out his completely unfounded anger on GT5's incredibly thoughtful reminders. Enjoy your money from Macro$haft, fanboy. Whatever, though. Review scores are completely worthless unless I agree with them, at which point I rejoice.
I like to take two copies of Gram Turismo and put chocolate and marshmallows between them, then heat it up and have me some snacky time. Smiley face; winky face.

I'm a real person, and I'm not an employee of Gamespot, just an ordinary member. The giant bomb logo under my name is my avatar. It's the sites default avatar if you haven't uploaded one of your own yet. BeachThunder is right, I copied the bullet points from the review.
The 500 error is weird, I cant even access my own profile.
I don't necessarily like Gamespot, but I do like Justin. I remember the few times I raced with him on the Forza Paint Union's race weekends. One day he lagged so much he was flying above everyone. I have a bunch of pictures of him hundreds of feet above everyone else. Good times.
On Topic: Bet Polyphony is pooping there pants right now. jk. It's funny that we can even consider Forza being as good as this game though considering everything that happened throughout development. At the end of the day I'm happy to have Forza, though!
Although the night modes in GT5 look awesome.
" I'm still trying to find out how this game is getting such great reviews... Regardless of the crappy menus, the gameplay looks soboring and realistic"Bold and underline to highlight silliness.
I am not a fan of driving simulators at all. I'm not going to buy GT5, but if the driving is "so boring and realistic" its probably done its job very well. That's why people love this series.
As someone who spends most of his time playing boring, unrealistic and ugly racing simulators on the PC, this review sound like a 9.32463588765 to me.
I really can't understand why people whine when their favorite game gets a "bad" score. You enjoy it, so what the hell do you care if some reviewer gives it a "bad" score? And also, since when was 8.0 out of 10 a bad score? It's just like when the legion of idiots complained over Jeff's Twilight Princess review and that he "only gave it 8.8". Seriously? 8.8 out of 10 and you scream bloody murder? One of my favorite games of 2010 "only" got a 3 out of 5 from Jeff (Dead Rising 2), but did you see me bitch and moan all day long regarding his score? Reviews are opinions, and newsflash: people have different opinions.
Ugh, I probably need some coffee...

Not hard to understand imo.
