I was fine on the first two tracks with a lot of corners to brake in. Once the races went all North American on me with drafting and full throttle corners, I was screwed. :P
Had fun though. And I agree about what to race next, not too much power. 325 hp sounds nice.

@ghorun: Tell the full throttle corners to these people. But, yeah when I saw you got first for the first two races, I thought this was gonna be over, but I think its more about what tracks you know best (and I generally hate/never practice the first two). Which brings me too.

325hp and 1000 kg seems cool. So, whats the ruling on driving aids + damage + tire restrictions and track list, even though I hated Cote D'azur and Eiger, they serve its purpose for those that love small twisty tracks. I vote Indy be switch to the le mans track since thats another track thats mainly full throttle but more interesting then a circle.
I'm still going to suggest that if it's possible, I would totally recommand doing a NASCAR rally championship. Rally racing, with NASCARS!
I am reminded by this vid of a fun event we could do.
Real life touring car races put a weight ballast on the previous winner to make the series competitive still, but since that option isn't in GT5 (who knows why, it was in GT5P), without some more driving aids, I don't believe our next race day will be as as close (competition wise); pushing away the more casual player.

Most of my Gran Turismo career has actually been playing split screen, believe it or not.
EDIT: So something that is street legal tuned you mean.
EDIT: I know they seem small, but it does add up. I just did a test by taking a NSX Type R, fully modded with racing parts at 324 HP and 1051 kg, but still road legal with exception to racing tires and pulled a 7:17 (and that car does have aerodynamics, its just set in stone), then I took a NSX '91, did the race mod on it, then added some more mods to it so it had 323 HP at 1045 kg, but the aerodynamics was adjustable under the NSX RM (which I maxed out) and got a 7:09 on the ring and of course racing softs (The top speed from better aerodynamics suffered, but I could corner better). Since I could shave 8 seconds by being able to adjust the aerodynamics (I had both cars suspension settings, etc set up the same) in a Race modded car, with more little subtle things like better weight distribution I wouldn't be surprised if I could get a GT300/WRC class car under 7:05 on the ring if the suspensions and stuff was set up more properly. Using the ring my be subjective and overall the difference of time gained in percent may be less then 5, so if its all the same to you, maybe you should let touring cars/WRC/GT300 class cars in and just see how it plays out. Less then 5% difference doesn't mean much when each race is 10 minutes at most and there's driver error. We saw big gaps due to human error last week and everybody was in the same go kart. So you may totally just disregard the knife into a gunfight comment.
Current Race Night: Race Night 2, Sat. Jan. 15th, 1pm PST: 325hp "Touring Car" Challenge
This weekend's race night is another 6 race mini championship, this time with touring cars. By touring cars, I mean we tune street cars to a race ready machine (racing transmission, aero parts, etc.). The hp limit will be 325hp with a lower weight limit of 1100kg. Racing soft tires are going to be the tires of choice. Not sure if I'm going to allow race modded cars. I prefer we have sedans or coupes only. Aids are off except ABS, TCS, and the driving line. @FrankCanada97: This statement might be redundent, So just to make sure everyone is on the same page, the cars has to be street legal (so obviously all Race cars and Race modded cars are out of the question), but someone can still bring in tuner cars like Nismo, Mugen, TRD, Amuse, RUF, etc that are still street legal, but still look like they came from fast and furious movie.
Great races everyone, it was good to see my Civic keep up with the NSX's and S2000.

I'm thinking for next week we do 575 hp with 1150kg lower limit. Or we can do shuffle races. Maybe even something else, what are your ideas?
I think at the end of the tournaments we should always have a good session of unlimited fuckin about before starting anything else. If there's still people around after a while of messing about, then maybe consider starting a new type of race, but at least let everyone take a break and relax after the tournament before doing so!

Anyway, for future events I propose that real touring cars can be used, but have the weight limit be something lower like 950 kg, since most touring cars have a weight of 1100-1200kg and there is no way you can decrease the weight any further. The extra weight on the real touring cars should be enough of a handicap to offset better aerodynamics and such.
But if you're thinking of doing 500+hp cars and still against the idea of actual touring cars, then make the weight limit higher say 1300-1400kg to encourage a big range of cars like the Astin Martin, Viper, GTR and even Lambos and R8s. All those cars even with level 3 weight reduction isn't going to be near 1150kg Making my choice for 500+Hp car with 1150 kg weight limit be cars that the real touring cars as based off of.
Anyway, you're the leader, you can give any parameters really, and I'll be happy as long as there's sufficient time to actually prepare a car.
