" @killdave said:To be honest I never saw any damage effects and the car crashed quite a few times too ..." lol bumper car racing. when will they learn ... "The game has damage modelling now, it's just not very simulation-esque where a single crash will destroy you. "
Can you give me a 0.00 time frame where a crash happens and damage is shown ?
They probably have it turned down in the video anyways. But look at 1:30 in, left door is flapping around. To be honest I never saw any damage effects and the car crashed quite a few times too ... Can you give me a 0.00 time frame where a crash happens and damage is shown ? "
This video shows a lot more.
Thanks for that link, I see the damage now. Although it could be a little more obvious damage, like paint scratching.
Also the AI car smashed into him several times and sustained no damage at all :(
Its still in development so I'll live on in hope they add it better than shown so far.
The damage on the cars seem too minimal. Where's the paint chipping?
But the real question is...
When is the damn game coming?
" The real question though, is how the handling compares to forza "Does it matter though? Let's be honest, both games are going to be absolutely outstanding. If you have either console you'll get more than enough with one or the other. If you have both and are reall into cars, there's no law saying you can't have both.
I know this wasn't what you were trying to initiate, but I can't believe how there's this little sub-console drama going on with GT and Forza.
On topic: the Gran Turismo videos astound me. Look at the lighting! :O
" @crunchUK said:yes, because everybody wants to know which will be best. It's like saying a football match is pointless. Yeah.... but... who cares?" Oh wellz. 1,000 cars murks your game, blah blah blah, Forza sucks, graphics are shit.
I don't see why one has to be "inherently" better when they're both going to be extraordinary games.
Edit: And by the way, football is a competitive sport. Review scores and personal opinion is only competitive on the basis of "I work for Polyphony Digital and want to make the best game so I get paid my salary" -- I blame Metacritic for turning games into a fucking war. I'm out of gaming if it becomes the norm to be over critical on various games just because of it's platform. Fair enough argue about Live and the PSN, or hardware failure rates or whatever. But not fucking games. It's ridiculous.
" @TwoOneFive said:i loved forza one. But GT5 is going to be king. Why are Forza fanboys so adamant!? i dont agree one bit. there has only been GT4 (which was better than forza) since forza and the glorified demo GT5Prologue (which ended up looking way better than forza 2)." Forza doesn't have a chance.Forza has been better ever since Forza existed. "
"
The game looks great, I just wish hitting the walls had some kind of negative impact. I never "bounce" off a wall in Forza, I usually wipe out and have to get back into the race.
" @crunchUK: So presumably you're one of those ones turning the console war into a game war now. And worst still, it's not even been Killzone vs. Halo or Gears vs. Uncharted. It's fucking racing simulators that have sparked the war. Oh wellz. 1,000 cars murks your game, blah blah blah, Forza sucks, graphics are shit. I don't see why one has to be "inherently" better when they're both going to be extraordinary games. Edit: And by the way, football is a competitive sport. @TwoOneFive: ended up looking better, ended up playing much worse too.

Well that's a start.
Now about that release date... :P
I just want my GT5 damn it!
Damage modelling isn't as nice as Forza's I have to admit but hey, as long as I get to set a hot lap on the Nurburgring with a C-Class car I'm already sold.
Videos look great however I shale echo some of the thoughts of people on here. When the fuck is this game going to be released
