Gentlemen (and Ladies),
There comes a time in every man's life when he must learn to drive a car. It's the most magical feeling in the world, right after making love for the first time...and for some men, there is no difference between the two. Well, that time has now come for all men to purchase the most advance racing wheel known to humanity yet. No I'm not talking about the Logitech G27, nor am I talking about those fancy Porsche Wheels. This wheel is what separates the men from the teens from the tweens.
The first real "Quick Look" is up, and currently the wheel only supports GT5. The company is working round the clock for full PC support (some games on PC work but not all the features are unlocked). The only downside is that the clutch needs needs to be bought by itself, and it isn't out on retail yet. So the total for the wheel and the clutch will be over $700 at the end of the day.
Is it worth it? More than likely yes...or no, depending on your financial situation and your die-hardness to use wheels.
Now, I haven't logged on GT5 in over a week due to Valve fucking up how I play games. Ended up buying a lot of games over the Holiday so I've been hooked on BC2, MNC, and some other stuff. But after checking this out, I'm going to log into GT5...and start the grind again. Might even impress some bitches with my Honda Civic.
But yeah, check it. It's the world's best performing wheel to this date, and it'll work for the PS3 and PC. If you're still looking for a wheel, get this over the G27 or the DFGT...you'll be glad in the end. Now I gotta figure out when I should be picking this up, as I do fancy my G27 very much.
And yes...the wheel is the same price as the PS3 was on launch, if you haven't noticed.

Funny thing is I knew some kid that was the son of a Saudi Oil King...and that's pretty much how it was. He drove a lambo as a freshman.

"
I want both!
"Jesus Christ. And I thought I was crazy for dropping over a hundred bucks on a fightstick. "
Only over a hundred bucks!
" Someone would actually buy a racing wheel that costs more than all of the racing games they're likely to buy for the next few years? "For the ultra-hard core it would be worth it, and if you're serious about quality it's looking like to be worth it. The early reviews are doing nothing but praising it. The only complaints are lack of full PC support, price, and lack of clutch...all of which will be fixed in due time.
If I had a proper racing chair, I would've ordered it.
I have specifically looked through all of these posts to see if anyone made a joke about the the name Thrustmaster. They didn't, I can't decide if that is sad or I need to grow up. But come on...Thrustmaster...who the hell started that naming convention, and how does that look on a shipping box.
for 1000 more dollars you could buy a piece of shit beater and do real life gran turismo and side missions like going to 7-11 to buy slurpee's and nachos, trips to the gaming store without mom, maybe even have sex with someone in it." @CL60 said:
" Seems like a waste of money in my opinion. "That's not just your opinion. "
Can I do that with this steering wheel? no.
So it's a waste of money.
but then again I do drive this around, and it's drift and track capable.
Unfortunately it is not possible to have sex in it.
That's absolutely ridiculous, you can buy 2 ps3s with that, or a really Killer graphics card, also you'll need to buy the effin stand/seat for the damn thing so in the end you'll end up spending over 700 bucks on this... that's insane.
Also GT5 is far from great, the driving may be the best there is but the AI is completely retarded, it's a simple formula really, is your car faster then those of the AI racers? if yes then you'll win, otherwise you wont, simple, so I hope this at the very least haves support for all racing games in existence, because spending that kind of money on GT5 alone is just not right.
Also, people playing GT don't really do it for the AI. It's the physics and simulation part. A good percentage just drive for time trials, test out cars, the online mode, and other stuff. The AI stuff is just there to grind. >.>

Only a complete idiot would buy this...

"Some people don't like PC gaming as much as they like driving sims, and why would he want 2 more PS3's when he obviously already has one since he's playing GT5? I'm not gonna try justifying the purchase for anyone, but people have different tastes and different senses of value. For you, 600 for a driving wheel might seem like a complete waste, while to a driving sim enthusiast, 600 for a graphics card is a waste and 600 for the wheel is a cheap price to pay.
Consider the fact that there's people who play NOTHING but GT5 every spare second of their lives, and it really isn't hard to understand.
I dont care how much money somebody throws at these driving setups. None of these things can ever simulate the feeling you'd actually get by driving the actual cars. It's all a giant colossal waste of money. I could think of a million better ways to spend 600 bones.
Yeah those were bad examples, not saying that you'd rather buy 2 ps3s, just to point the crazy fact that a peripheral costs more then 2 times the price of the console it plays on." @onarum said:
