Honda Civic....  1.5 litre SOHC V-tech 173 BHP front wheel drive
It's squirely downhill, I love this game!

this is the GT I remember...

Gave it an Oil change and am about to browse what type of enhancements are available...

EDIT:
I like the menu for parts,
ECU, Racing Air filter, Cat converter upgrade and a Sports exhaust to maximise exhaust airflow...with my pittance of cash

New BHP: 202 :)
Can't wait until my Legnum is unlocked...

i wanna pic!  export it! :D

Still waiting for UPS.  x.x

#4 Posted by Red12b (9338 posts) -
@KaosAngel: How do I export?
#5 Posted by PhilESkyline (873 posts) -

Mine was a used Honda Civc got it from $11,000 and used the rest on engine mods.

#6 Edited by KaosAngel (14251 posts) -
@Red12b: When you go in replay or photomode, you take a shot of the picture,  you can export it to the XMB and/or put it on a USB.

EDIT:  I mean you can directly export to the USB rather than going back into the XMB and transferring from there.

Nissan SILVIA spec-S AER (S15) '99 (Yellow, my least fav. colour, virtual cookie for someone not from the UK who knows why) around 18k as I remember no mods at all just used to blitz the early races and splashed the cash on a Jaguar XKR Performance '02, which I mainly brought because it is in British Racing Green.

well, the first one I was being taught in was an old Daihatsu (I think) 2 seater van.

Yep, it's terrific. After buying it, I went and did the B licence and levelled up enough to unlock the Top Gear test track Special event thing. Beat that (in the VW van they provide) and the first couple of Sunday Cup events in the Civic and was already able to buy a bunch of upgrades.

Took a few Photomode screenshots and uploaded them to my Picasa account if anyone fancies a looksee! Sample below:

Does anyone know if there will be a web-based profile for your GT account? Would make it so much easier to export and post pictures. Bit of a hassle atm.

Mixed information right now.

Gran Turismo Anywhere is either up and running now or it isn't.  I don't have the manual so I can't check the website that does it, but the GT site says later this month.

Once the site goes live you can do your full car customization, trading, buy, and B-Spec racing (but this one needs your PS3 on while you're away).

I can't test it out, as I don't have a copy.  x.x

Also, nice shot!

Thanks. I see. No link in the manual as far as I can see. At the moment I think the community profile thing only works for in-game friends, but it's good to know something is coming soon.

Well for completing some of the license tests I received a Nissan mm-R Cup Car. Blows everything out of the water.

I feel rewarded for doing licenses first. It's great.

i don't know i'm installing the game right now. i think i'll go with the honda civic because people are saying it's good.

Got myself a Mazda since I'm no massive fan of FF drive that the Civic has. Pretty awesome so far though I'm trucking my way through the licences test for now.

Edit: I just added the five pre-order cars plus the other five stealth model cars so uh...yeah, those cars.

Well the used car dealership bit isn't predictable, so have a good luck you might be offered some bargain the people who plumed for the Civic didn't.

oh god! Forza and GT and every freaking racing/sim game out there continues the trend of starting you off with civics and D class mazdas. Can't there be one game that starts you off as a rich 16 year old who gets to buy a mercedes?

installing now, can't decide between CTR/Miata/FC RX7
Which EVO? I'm buying a 5 once I get deeper into it.
#23 Edited by KaosAngel (14251 posts) -

...I still haven't bought a car.  Been too busy installing, cleaning up my place for tomorrow, and other stuff.   So I've been sticking to the arcade mode for the past hour.  x.x

What premium model can I buy for 20,000 CR?

#24 Posted by Binman88 (3706 posts) -
@KaosAngel: Copied this from GTP

#1 Daihatsu Copen Active top '02 - 15,000
#2 Honda Civic Type R (EK) '97 - 19,980
#3 Mazda Autozam AZ-1 '92 - 14,980
#4 Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) '89 - 17.000
#5 Mazda Eunos Roadster J-Limited (NA) '91 - 19.000
#6 Nissan March 12SR '07 - 17,830
#7 Suzuki Cappuccino (EA11R) '91 - 14,580
#8 Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) '95 - 14,600
#9 Suzuki Cervo SR '07 - 14,180
#10 Suzuki Swift Sport '05 - 16,200
#11 Suzuki Swift Sport '07 - 16,300
#12 Toyota Vitz RS 1.5 '07 - 16,380

I went with the Civic. Someone else on GTP said to go with the 5000CR Kart, win a few races and you'll have more than 20K to spend on a wider variety of cars.

Civic Type R. Probably the best car to go for without getting lucky in the second hand dealership...

Depending on the used car lot, you just might luck out. But then again any merc under 20k even if its used probably isn't better than a new Civic or mazda would be.

@KaosAngel: Slick...I'm starting with cars I've owned or do own, then moving on to the cars I want but can't afford yet.

@Red12b: Let me know if you find out anything...what's your PSN ID? Let's get some races going! My PSN list has like three people on it...today was the first I've even turned the thing on in over six months.

There is usually some new stuff in there after I do a race.

SO GUYS how is the game?  I can't buy it yet because for some reason I bought some paintball kneepads for $60 instead of this game (well I actually do need the pads).  How similar is it to the prologue, because maybe I'll play that to pass the time.

#36 Posted by iam3green (14368 posts) -

i went with the honda civic. pretty fast car. i'm also working on getting licenses.

I got lucky in the used lot and found myself a tidy Mazda Miata in white. Slapped a weight reduction kit 1 and a twin-plate clutch and proceeded to dominate everything in sight. Bought a Civic Type R '08 shortly after.

@MB:
Quite frequently. I've seen a Countach, SLR and 3 Imprezas waltz through my used inventory.

aaahh! Must have Quick Look NOW.

Here was my first auto. The game lost my save data and it was not recoverable : (

I have this S15 again, but my first car this time is a used '02 Protege. Also the photo mode definitely allows the standard models to look a letter better.

I picked the 1998 Lexus IS 200. Put a few upgrades in it and I mopped the floor with those level 0's.

With my Korean wife looking over my shoulder, I opted to go with the 99 Huyndai Tiberon. The puke green color was kind of off putting, but I'm enjoying driving it. It has a nice weight to it and corners fairly well. The only thing that really sucks is that it isn't eligible for a lot of the races. I've since painted the car black and done some upgrading, focusing on horsepower.
