Ah, I miss Vice City. Well, that's cool for Mac users. Better late than never, I guess, but the games don't hold up as well as I would have hoped.
Grand Theft Auto III
Game » consists of 28 releases. Released Oct 22, 2001
The third release in the Grand Theft Auto Franchise stars silent criminal protagonist Claude who, after having been betrayed and left for dead, is out for revenge. It was the first GTA game in 3D, an evolution that proved to be pivotal and helped establish the franchise as one of gaming's most popular (and controversial).
Trio Of Grand Theft Auto Titles To Hit The Mac This Year
Does anyone really want this...? I mean, come on. Sure, they were good for their time...... sort of.... But even then, they weren't really much better than Crackdown. They were even less super than that. And now? Yeahhhh.... GTA IV was a poor example of evolving gameplay as it was, now this? The games really REALLY don't stand up very well across the years.
They should repack all the GTA3 era games onto one blu-ray disc and release it on PS3 with 720p (or 1080p) resolution and modern controls.

" ....They're working on this? And not RDR for PC? :[ "No announcement doesn't mean no port. They denied and denied and denied possible PC ports of GTA4 and EFLC up until the time to start printing discs. RDR PC is coming, mark my words.
" a still no gta on steam for europe "Well thats wrong, available on steam in my native scandinavia.
" @PJ said:You should play them on the PS2(I hear they are cheap nowadays). I personally didn't care too much for the PC version of the GTA games since the shooting is frankly horrible so the lock-on on the PS2 works much better." Wow, now the 0.0000001% of the world that haven't played the GTA III games can play them. "lol are you totally talking about me? 'Cause I do have a Mac and interestingly enough, I did not play any of the GTA games for some strange reason. (no, I was not refusing to purchase it until they appear natively on macs) =D "
wouldn't i still be better off playing them on windows 7 via bootcamp? unless those games require such little power that even a geforce 320m with its simple OSX video card drivers can power those games at 1680x1050. i would hope that this comes out on SteamPlay since i already own the windows versions of those games so i can just play them right away on OSX.
If this is available through Steam its another tick in a box about possibly purchasing a Mac for my Birthday.
Meh I'd rather get some simple games to play on my Macbook. Real games are meant for PCs and consoles.
" I knew they were doing something with these games because Lazlow posted an archive of all the radio ads from these games and the PSP games. Clearly R* had no reason to make that archive unless they were going to do something with the games. I expected a HD rerelease on PS3 like we've seen with God of War and Sly Cooper. Perhaps they are and just haven't revealed it yet. Seems like a waste of resources to make a mac version and only a mac version. "actually this might be the plan, seeing as both OS X and PS3 use openGL, so this is definitely a possibility.
" Screw the Mac! I want a PC version! "It is on PC... has been for what almost 9 years now? :P
There's no other game that makes my heart sing as much as GTA 3 does.
The music, atmosphere, dialogue for the pedestrians...
*faints*
Wait, these titles are good? I already have Torchlight and TF2 on my Mac, were you refering to those?" Cool! the start of hopefully a slew of better quality titles to mac! "
I guess those GTA games have nice soundtracks? :/
And Mac hardware is powerful and reliable, thank you Mr Brad :)
