PC mods are making me want to play through this again >.>

I wouldn't be able to run this game with these mods, but shit... this game with mods looks incredible.

is that last one a texture mod?? cause it looks great

The game is super fun to mod too, regardless of how shit it runs. I turned a Faggio into a kind of Jetski just by editing the vehicle config file.

And there's an in-game trainer that allows for an assortment of crazy things ranging from spawning ramps in the world to spawning a gang of thugs to protect you to using custom weapons. I made a type of flamethrower out of an SMG that shoots Molotov cocktails that create one flame particle, up to two meters before fading. Tried making a water cannon, but the hydrant particle effect is positioned weirdly and it's not very flexible.

Hoping GTA5 looks something like this, if not better.

I'm playing it on my 360 right now.

The watercolor-y graphics hurt my eyes :(

Yeah, I've had multiple playthroughs with mods, really gave the game a lot of extra value IMO. Just be forewarned, installing them is a PAIN IN THE ASS.  But if you can bear it, you'll reap some pretty great results.

what mods are these? i play it maxed on my rig, wonder how it would look with the mod on that list pic (i dont care about car mods)

@InfamousBIG: Really? What mods were you installing that were pains in the ass? Stuff like cars and texture replacements, where you have to go edit an img file?

I did a lot of that with San Andreas and knew I would just stick to text file modification when GTA4 came out. Graphical mods take the most work and result in the least change to gameplay.

@MrKlorox: Yeah, idk really how to make mods unless there's a pretty good toolset, so I pretty much install them only.

Texture mods are the worst, where you have to open up the directory with SparkIV, go in and open each different img file, and replace each different model, and if they're named differently replace the png itself.  Fucking pain in the ass.

There are some pretty good benefits, though.  Although not much of a change in replay value, making Niko look 100X more badass, making the world look as good as it does above, changing all the fugly clothes, and changing all the cars in the world to have real names and look better and handle better was pretty much reward enough.

I'm not sure what they are called. Go to the GTA4 mod site, and they should be featured, or highest rated.

I have been meaning to try this and hopefully I will do it soon.

Can those mods also improve the character models too?

is there any fun gameplay mods?

bought it off steam for $5 but just like every steam sales game... I've never even download it.

Holy crap. That looked amazing. Dare i say it looked even better than Red Dead Redemption. Now that game would be amazing to look at with upgraded textures.

I'm still really pissed off RDR and L.A. Noire aren't coming to PC.

RDR is.  LA Noire isn't confirmed or denied either.

Where does it say RDR is coming to PC?

I would be much more impressed with that video if it in any way resembled GTA. That video has no AI what so ever, so of course they can make the graphics look good. There's no pedestrians, traffic, no explosions, or damage being modeled so i'm not that impressed. The framerate is kinda shitty so they got that part of GTA right.

I'm not trolling and I love GTA4, I just wish that video gave me more than a guy driving back and forth.

Sadly my comp can't even play the regular version.

Now I realize I own it twice.

It always amazes me what modders can do to game engines.
