Take on the role of Niko Bellic, a Serbian immigrant who comes to the US at his cousin Roman's request, to find a better life, search for "that special someone" and participate in lawless activities in an upgraded generation of Liberty City.

    GTA 4 is the shit

Grand Theft Auto 4 is a game that truly shows what the real world is like and does a great job of presenting the characters in a realistic way that just makes the world even more real. In the game you play as Niko Bellic an eastern European who goes to America with nothing but the promise of life, money, freedom, and happiness from his cousin Roman. When he gets to Liberty City he finds out that Roman has been lying his ass off and that all Roman has is a not very popular cab depot and crappy apartment. One event leads to another and you find yourself sucked into the cities criminal underground.

As Niko you find yourself working for many of the various criminal organizations throughout the city. You first work for the Russian mafia then you work with some coke dealers, a washed up Irish family, and of course it wouldn’t be Liberty City without the Italian Mafia. The story is one of the greatest stories in video games ever. The story is on the level of stuff like Max Payne or Mass Effect. There are so many horribly flawed people that if I would to list off every single character it would take the rest of this review. One of my most favorite characters in the game is Dwayne an ex-gangster who just got out of jail and has nothing but an apartment that he got from his probation officer. He is so depressed that he wants to kill himself. No matter how much you try to cheer him with either pussy or beer. This is what makes the world really come alive and feel like more than just a video game.

The game play in GTA 4 is not the greatest but it is still solid and satisfying. You can still jack cars and run around in the open world but some of the things that are new are the targeting system. You can lock on to an enemy by holding the trigger all the way down and you can also hold it down half way to free aim. Another new thing is taking cover. It’s pretty much like gears so nothing to crazy. In the end GTA 4 is one of the greatest games of all time and everybody should get a chance to play it.

To live again in Liberty City... (TLAD) 0

It’s a bit weird how this generation has introduced the inclusion of downloadable content, as on the one hand it theoretically allows games to be expanded in fantastic ways, but on the other hand companies like Namco Bandai and Electronic Arts have made DLC rear its ugly head. Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned not only proves a good justification for the existence of DLC, but also expands on the idea of what DLC can really do and sets a lead that all other developers and publishers should fo...

The Lost and Damned Review 0

The Lost and Damned is a download available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, PSN, and for download for PC for $20, respectively.  The expansion, while still being an expansion, is an entirely new game with new characters, story, weapons, vehicles, activities, and multiplayer modes.  While there are no new areas to explore, TLAD features the Rockstar brand of storytelling that everyone has come to know and love.
