Grand Theft Auto IV Forum

 I've had my 360 elite for 18 months now or something. Has run smoothly.
But today I decided to download the DLC... Everytime I put down the controller and walked away the system froze after about five minutes and I had to manually turn it off. But if I kept browsing the dashboard and so on it worked fine. After the download was complete I left the system on for half an hour and it seemed to be fine again, assumed it was some problem for the system to handle such a large download while going into sleep or something.
 
So when I started to play the game I got random freezes with lapses between twenty minutes up to two hours in between. Tried clearing the disc cache with no luck.
 
Anyone else having similar issues?
Haven't tried playing any other games just yet, just wanted to check since I know there has been freezing problems with GTA IV in the past.
 
**Edit** I downloaded and played The Maw four days ago and I had no problems there, that's why I'm a bit suspicious about this dlc.

Indeed but it came without warning and in relation to this game, that I know has had freeze issues before.

okay; i will start off with saying i didnt get the one that you needed to install to the harddrive i got the 40 dollar one with lost and damned and gay tony put together ive only had two problems with freezing i got it today im trying to make sure nothings wrong because when i pushed the button on the console after it froze it shut down real fast i dont kno if there is a problem if anyone knos plzzz msg me back

This problem is very strange... I have no explanation to it... 


So today I began doing some torubleshooting and  I deleted ballad of gay tony AND lost and damned to see what happens... I downloaded lost and damned, let the xbox alone and it downloaded the entire thing without problems... When I then started doing ballad of gay tony again it started freezing... THIS time it RROD'ed... So I called and set up for it to be shipped off when I remembered the disc was still in so I turned the box on and it was fine... So now I have deleted ballad of Gay Tony totally and I played Brutal Legend. I got no freezes no nothing...

I'm not really sure where to take it from here.. could always try to download the DLC again but... I don't know it just doesn't seem to be any problems with my 360...
