I think that the reason we're not excited is because we know the game is a bit of a way off. As the game gets closer to release date, lets be honest, you know you're buying it. I know I am.

And a year away at the very least. I'll be excited for GTAV when it gets closer to a release date. Right now there's no release date or anything other than a trailer.

Who said I wasn't excited?
Yeah, wondering about this myself.
I'm fucking pumped already. Which will make the year or however long it takes for this to come out pretty tough, but I'm willing to wait for greatness.
I third this. It's been 3 years since I played GTA IV and I'm not expecting GTA V until 2013. What, with Max Payne 3 coming out in March, I don't think it would be out next year.
I have too many games to be hyped about right now such as Skyrim. Its the return of my favorite GTA setting and what looks like an world with great open rural sections like in Red Dead and the amazingly detailed city of GTA IV. When this game comes out i have no doubt it will be incredible.

Did you make some kind of poll, have you any kind of source or a reason to think that? Do there have to be 100 people posting a thread with the trailer or something? What exactly did you expect? MY guess is you are dissappointed and I can almost guarantee you will in some shape or form be disappointed by GTA 5. With that I don't mean it will be a bad game, but I think your expectations are tad bit high.
I'm making a lot of assumption about you and I'm not really serious so don't get mad and/or take my post seriously
I can honestly say that my expectations of GTA V is a GTA IV set in California. If all it does is live up to GTA IV then I'll be happy. As far as my thinking there is apathy I've been reading a lot of forums around and a lot of core gamers, not most, just a lot, just don't seem to be excited.
I always enjoy a good trailer but as it has been said, there are so many great games out or about to come out I have all my energy set on them right now. Batman, UC3, Skyrim, Rage, MW3, Skyward Sword... on and on.
When GTA 5 gets to E3 next year we'll get a more in-depth game play look and all be super excited. (i don't think we'll see it before late summer or fall 2012)

I seriously doubt I am going to buy it, I haven't bought a GTA game since GTA3, except if you count RDR as one. You know what, I actuallly might as i expect they will have mid-mission checkpointing like RDR, my main beef with the previous GTA games.
When we all heard that GTA V was being made, it wasn't a surprise. My apathy for the GTA series is more akin to the lack of innovation in the series when compared to games released from 2001 to 2008. I enjoyed GTA IV, I'm sure I will play GTA V when it's released but at this point I'm more interested in games like Max Payne 3 from R* rather than another open-world crime drama.
