People have obviously opened the game up and are looking in the files, so this could just be something cut, or something to be added later, but found in the code for GTA Online is.

Well, there is that big casino and track (probably not spoilers, but I'm being extra cautious) on the map that you do absolutely nothing at during the single-player, so I have to think that it will be involved in GTA Online and/or future single-player DLC at some point.

Drug dealing and gambling? Didn't GTA used to be about pushing the boundaries? I want them to bring the torture minigame to the online! (That actually is kind of a spoiler for one of the missions in the game.)

@mooseymcman: Sure, they're about pushing the boundaries, but they also included tennis and golf minigames. They can go any direction they want to.

@chaser324: I honestly had way more fun in that torture mission than I did playing tennis or golf. I wonder what that says about me... Well, part of it was that the AI for the tennis and golf was kinda bad.

@mooseymcman: You need to play tougher competition. Theres a pro near the golf course I think. Shes pretty tough.

@mooseymcman: I actually found that section a bit tough to get through. I'm not sure why I found it any more disturbing than any of the other wanton violence, but I definitely did.

Because all that violence is on a massive scale in that scene its one person and you really get to see his humanity shine through.

On an off note I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT FOR GTA ONLINE.

I had Trevor in short orange biker shorts and no shirt at that moment so it had a more Tarentino esque feel for me, goofy people up to lawlessness.

Since the game appears to possibly have microtransactions for buying in-game money and things like that, might it be problematic to have gambling and drug-dealing mechanics in it?

I suppose it depends on whether you can gamble and deal with others and if you can earn anything of value. Even if it's just something in-game, it sounds a little sketchy to me.

Oh yeah, theres a few things in game I'm guessing are part of the Online.

Like (minor spoilers? I GUESS) that unused prison. they could easily make a co-op "heist" where you break a guy out.

That's actually a pretty fair point about the gambling. In fact, I could really see that turning into a bit of legal minefield if not handled properly.

I don't think it's an issue as long as they don't let people sell in-game items for actual money. I recall Eve Online having similar issues: "We can accept money, but the moment we give money out we're defined as a bank."

I was surprised there was no gambling at all. I was really hoping for some back room poker at least! I thought for sure they would of put in poker and blackjack kinda like RDR...
