It's here! Im on my phone, so I cant reliably post the link, but there's one directly below this post. Enjoy!

Original post: Or tomorrow? It's 2:09 in the east coast, so it's today for me

Anyway, here's some good news to ease the pain of yesterdays tragic news

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/07/08/grand-theft-auto-v-gameplay-video-coming-tomorrow

In 8 hours, we will finally have gameplay for one of this gens most anticipated games. Cannot wait to get my hands on it

Stay strong duders!

Gameplay trailer is out and OMG it looks and sounds stunning.

I know it is a hard time but maybe a bit distraction is a good thing.

This is the good news we all needed.

From the vid confirmed: in game golf, road cycling, tennis, bank heists, bounty missions, car customisation, tattoos, clothes shopping, real estate purchases, stock market investments, planes, insta switching between three characters anytime, and that's before we get to the online.

Just finished watching it and it looks breathtakingly good.

Oh. my. fucking. GOD.

Daaaaaaaaamn. I think they found their balance between San Andreas and GTA4. Looking forward to it.

Looks pretty damn awesome.

Wow, that looked reallllllly good. Seems like the shooting is similar to MP3 so if you didn't like it tough luck, i personally loved it. Looking forward to playing this

That zoom-out function to switch characters looks straight out of Midnight Club LA. The driving model seems pretty similar too from that brief snippet.

Now the quest to find the music begins. Sounds like in-house produced tracks or maybe some Kavinsky.

Looks gorgeous. Still wish it was launching with the new platforms, but damn it if I'm going to wait for a hypothetical GOTY edition on the next gen.

Very nice.

Normally I wanted to wait as well for the PC version but it seems that this was PS3 footage so I am really tempted to buy GTAV first for the PS3 and later for the PC. Because it is looking that good.

WOW

#15 Posted by Brake (1088 posts) -

That bank-heist-planning stuff could be A-mazing. Super looking forward to this.

GTA 4 was the only GTA game I've never been able to finish. I tried getting back into it several times over the past few years, but I could never get it to click with me. GTA 5, however, looks like a fine return to form and I can't wait to get my hands on this baby. If this game is half as good as it looks, it will be a great capstone for this generation.

#17 Posted by Grissefar (2842 posts) -

Wow I can't believe it - it's the first time since Demon's Souls that I've had the urge to preorder a game.

The only thing that sucks is the "Geez, Pop, too much more of that and maybe I won't be dead by 35" line which sort of stings today of all days but damn if it doesn't look good.

So good that there has to be a catch somewhere. Maybe the game runs at 15 fps the whole time, or maybe it will be broken the first 2 months until Rockstar fixes it, who known.

#18 Posted by jimmyfenix (3829 posts) -

@grissefar: Jeff saw it and he said it looked great framerate wise

#19 Posted by Smashlampjaw (220 posts) -

Awesome, can I have it now? lol

#20 Posted by thebunnyhunter (1351 posts) -

Fine RockStar, it looks damn good and I look forward to playing it now.

#21 Posted by Solh0und (1756 posts) -

Sold!

#22 Posted by FourWude (2261 posts) -

@brake: If bank heists or co-op games in general tittilate you then watch out for a game called Payday 2. That also looks awesome.

Looks great (that improved gunplay looks fantastic!) and made me chuckle more than once. Gotta say, in the midst of a AAA market saturated with so many gritty, emotionally devastating titles, it's good to see a satirical, irreverant game executed with a high level of care and polish.

#24 Posted by MeatSim (10762 posts) -

If this runs okay on current gen hardware then this will be real impressive. I was already planning on getting this, but I am way more excited about this now.

#25 Posted by Willza92 (259 posts) -

That looks amazing. Imagine what it would look like at 1080p with 60fps.

#26 Posted by CrossTheAtlantic (1145 posts) -

It's like every Rockstar game so far put into one.

It looks awesome.

We, players of the video games, are a lucky bunch, always having amazing games like this to look forward to. There's always something to get excited about, and right now this is that thing for me.

#28 Edited by StrainedEyes (1321 posts) -

GTA V is a fantastic send-off for this generation of games.

#29 Posted by Soap (3564 posts) -

This video has told me that I can still play and enjoy games.

....it also makes me sad that Ryan will never play GTAV :/

#30 Posted by Captain_Insano (1527 posts) -

Holy shit, full on sports?

What is this madness

#31 Posted by Demoskinos (14562 posts) -

The tease of the online stuff at the end piqued my attention.

#32 Posted by RonGalaxy (2868 posts) -

Not sure how I feel about the big rectangle map on the screen; takes up a bit too much real-estate.

With that said, this looks a-fucking-mazing. Cannot wait

#33 Posted by Live2bRighteous (314 posts) -

I'm not watching that trailer just because I want to hype myself to the most extreme haha. I cannot damn wait for it to come out... I just want everything to feel extremely fresh and new once I get into it. I did the same exact thing with max payne 3, didn't watch any gameplay until the game came out... then I continued to play it for over 200 hours.

I have to ask guys... there is one thing I'm curious about... in the online tidbit, did they mention or show any online bank heist multiplayer gamemode? Maybe something like Kane and Lynch's fragile alliance, per say? If so, I will be the happiest man alive.

@live2brighteous: They only teased the multiplayer at the end of the trailer, showed someone looking out of a window and there were a bunch of players driving cars and flying helicopters and jets.

Looks amazing, it's going to be a long wait until September.

Looks pretty cool to me. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

#38 Edited by rjayb89 (7717 posts) -

I was hoping the whole zooming into other characters when you switch (when doing normal open-world shit) would be like in The Sims 3, near instantaneous, but I guess it helps to load in shit if it has to be like that if it's even final, that is.

The shooting in Max Payne 3 the best shooting in a Rockstar game to date, so that's certainly a good thing.

Sweet San Andreas (pointless) levelling system! Must drive for 3 hours to max out that damn meter.

What other developer could get away with not releasing any gameplay footage of a game coming out in just a few months?

#42 Posted by jimmyfenix (3829 posts) -

@oscar__explosion: I think its better to do it this way. Watchdogs looks great but Ubisoft just keep showing so much gameplay of that game and its kinda getting over saturated.

#43 Posted by vegetashonor (565 posts) -

Finally some good news! Thanks Duder!!!

Looks really cool. Didn't think I could be cheered up at all today, thanks video games.

Right, but my comment was more of a praise on Rockstar for having the pedigree on being able to get away with doing that. If ubisoft (or hell just about any developer) tried to do this same thing people would be crying foul and think they were hiding it because the game is no good.

The three protagonist perspective seems amazing, I love that you can swap between them and see what they're doing. Looks good to, read in a few articles how dense and cool the world looks. I was sold anyways, but I'm sold even more now. I was somewhat disappointed with GTA4, mainly due to the overly serious story and Nico, who I couldn't stand. This looks like it'll bring back the good old GTA.

Yeah....

It looks really good...

A few minutes ago, Rockstar confirmed that the footage was taken from the PS3. (Stickied comment)

Game Informer has also released 2 new articles on customization and gun combat. (Included in the articles are 7 new screens.)

More interested than I was. Have really lost interest in GTA since Saints Row 3 and Sleeping Dogs
