So I saw a dude in an argument with his wife, so I drive him to the golf club. I arrive there fast so their conversation isn't done yet. No problem man, it's cool, I'll just wait this out, you know, this conversation is funny enough anyway. So I sit there for maybe a minute in front of the yellow ring, conversation still going when all of a sudden the guy steps out of the car and says "I've had enough of this shit". Wow, did that just really happen, Rockstar? I fail the mission because I was listening to the dialogue they wrote. Who knows if I can even repeat it? Anyway, that really sucked a dick, so try not to make the same mistake as me. It really sucks a giant asshole.

heh, I did that same one and did the same hting, only got bored halfway through

yeah if there is no time limit you either have to drive very slowly or you have to constantly move back and forth near the marker^^

I enjoy a lot of the random conversations and find myself stringing them out so that I can listen in, as well.

I had a similar experience with one involving some women that wanted me to take her to her boyfriend by the VINEWOOD sign. After getting there, the guy comes out and start punching me, so I pull my gun on them and they both take off: no indication of what might have happened otherwise. In retrospect, I probably should have just hit him a few times.

That doesn't happen to me. Mainly because I don't drive there at 1000 MPH so when I get there. the conversation is nearly finished. But I always finish the conversations,

Wait, you didn't drive him to the cult? YOU FOOL!

Yeah I heard Jeff talk about that, but I haven't heard of any cult, man. 66% in and I think I've done all freaks and geek types at least once each so maybe I've missed something somewhere.

It was mentioned very briefly pretty early on in the game when playing as Trevor out in Sandy Shores. It was like one or two sentences of tutorial pop-up...easy to miss for sure!

It can only happen when you play as Trevor.

Yeah they do like to drop those in the middle of missions, while you are occupied with 15 other things, don't they? And they appear for exactly three seconds. I can't even count how many times I've had to pause and read those from the menu, dead afraid that I've probably missed a couple along the way.

The way they display tutorial messages and important game information is awful. They could at least put the game in slow-mo if not a complete pause. God knows you gotta press A to get mission results off the screen, why couldn't tutorials display in a similar way?

It tells you about the cult in an email Trevor gets right when you first start playing as him.

I would like to know which missions are 'safe' to take to the cult as I've had quite a few where they have given me something extra like a golf partner, or a stock tip etc and taking them to the cult would seem like a waste.

That was especially bad when learning to fly. Trying to look at the little tutorial box while trying not to crash is maddening.

When I got the stock tip guy, I specifically looked on the map for the cult icon and couldn't find it, so maybe if they are important characters you don't get the option?

@humanity: You only get it as trevor. Were you playing as him?

@alistercat: yes I know it's only as Trevor and yes indeed, I was Trevor at the time. I had also driven a hitchhiker to the cult before so I know where the place should be - alas there was no marker there and I thought, might as well do a good deed once in a while.

Heh, I found a bride who was running from her psychotic boyfriend. Started to driver her to the cult boyfriend persues us I then throw a sticky bomb on his car and blow it up. She....doesnt like this. Cops chase me now I stop she freaks out and jumps out of the truck and I hit her sending her careening over the hillside. Nobody came out of that one a winner.
