Ign has put up an article summarizing everything which was discussed in the Game Informer GTA Online Preview Here Is a Excerpt from it

"GTA Online will be populated by your friends and crew members first, before shifting to include players of a similar skill level from your geographic region. The option is there, however, to fully handpick everyone you play with. When you start your online adventure, you'll have to choose your character's parents, lifestyle and preferences, all of which determine your starting statistics, which can be upgraded. You'll also be able to select a female avatar.

Pretty much all activities from the single-player campaign will be available online including "heists, missions, robberies, assaulting gang hideouts, hijacking armored vehicles, races" along with "tennis, golf and base jumping". In terms of the ones on offer, they'll change regularly as they're controlled via Rockstar's Social Club. After you've completed a task, your crew leader will decide who keeps the loot while you're guaranteed to receive Reputation Points and cash rewards.

The point of the game is to amass heaps of cash and buy assets such as cars and houses; houses will have space for storing cars, with cheap ones offering two garage spaces compared to expensive penthouses holding ten. You'll want to visit ATMs often too, as rival players can kill you and take any cash you have on you at the time. If you're unlucky enough to be robbed though, you can put a bounty on the perpetrator's head in a bid to get some revenge"

GTA Online will Launch on October 1st and is free with every retail copy of GTA V.

GTA V is out next week in the mean time enjoy this Fan made screenshot.

GamePlay Preview

IGN - "Our first play of GTA V shows us the next generation starts when Rockstar says so".

On neogaf two users have found some information of performance both on 360 and PS3

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Much like when Lazlow did the GTA IV pre release tour back in 2008 he is doing the same with GTA V. It is being said that multiple radio hosts will have hands on time with the game. Here is where it gets interesting. On neo-gaf a user has pointed out some Info from the demo.

"Interesting. Lazlow is taking GTA V on a pre-release tour, and letting some radio hosts get their hands on the game. Something extremely similar happened with GTA IV (on the Opie and Anthony show, if I recall). Anyway, it seems some tidbits of information got revealed. Nothing too spoilerific, but it does concern drug use, and some vehicles you can drive:

  • During the demo, Trevor hijacks a train and 'beats the shit out of the conductor'
  • Each character seems to have their own drug of choice. Michael drinks. Franklin smokes weed. Trevor uses meth. (I'm not quite sure on this one)
  • Actual LA gang members were recorded for the ambient voices of Los Santos gang members
  • Each character has their own background score. Trevor's is more 'country', for instance
  • The graphics are really impressive"

It is some good news that Lazlow will have some form in GTA V but since radio hosts will be having hands on time with the game expect more information to be released.

Oh Lazlow... The only constant between the GTA III universe and the GTA IV universe.
Sounds very interesting. Like the idea of character specific background score.

Yes! Lazlow? I love that guy, hope he's got a nice role in the game!

Oh awesome, he's always great to listen to. The personal score and ambient voice thing seems kinda great. Reminds me of some fucking hilarious random conversations I'd hear in San Andreas when just sitting in a car idling. For the life of me I can't remember any, but there was one that made me lose it for about five minutes because of the sheer randomness of it.

Argh, but I need to hold out for the PC release...I will hold out for the PC release.

...if I say that enough, will I convince myself?

Didn't work for me.

You know I honestly dont know If I feel alright with them using actual gang members for voices.

Who?

You have played a GTA game before, right?

Well.... no. Fernando Martinez (played by Frank Chavez) was in the GTA V world (in TLaD and BoGT he hosts Vice City FM) - and I believe he is rumored to be in V too. So there's that...

Oh, I should clarify: If you have the downloadable version of TLaD and/or BoGT on the consoles the station doesn't exsist, it's only there on the disc versions or the Steam version...

HIJACKING TRAINS.

Yeah, that seems questionable... then again, half of the rap albums I owned in the 90s would make me a hypocrite if I made too big a stink about it. Still, eyebrow raised.

Guys, as each day passes, I get more and more excited about this game. As of now, I've decided to not get the next gen games and I do not plan on buying any more games after GTA5. This may really be the "End All, Be All" for me

#18 Edited by ShadowConqueror (3050 posts) -

Lazlow is always pretty funny. I can't wait for this game.

#19 Posted by jimmyfenix (3830 posts) -

So apparently new previews are going up for GTA V and they say you can play games on your phone. i....need....this....game....now....

#20 Posted by MachoFantastico (4506 posts) -

Love me some Lazlow in my GTA. That said, nothing as yet matched Chatterbox. Wasn't a huge fan of V-Rock and I thought his show on GTAIV had potential but didn't compare to Chatterbox.

#21 Posted by Yummylee (21276 posts) -

I found Lazlow's show to be pretty unbearable in GTAIV, but his classic work in GTA with Chatterbox and whatever his show was in San Andreas is still pretty funny to this day, so I'll still be giving his new stuff a chance in GTAV.

#22 Posted by jimmyfenix (3830 posts) -

Ign preview is up. More expected to come.

#23 Edited by AlecOfTheWest (275 posts) -

Lazlow"s pretty great. Gonna avoid these though, just because I honestly don't want to see too much of the game revealed.

but which version do I buy!!!?

Real-time facial hair growth?!

And there we have it. Deadly Premonition is no longer officially the greatest open-world game in all of existence :P

#27 Posted by Demoskinos (14574 posts) -

@shagge: Personally probably going to just entirely skip this because of that.

#28 Edited by Humanity (8834 posts) -

@jimmyfenix: WELL if NeoGaf user "ekim" says he heard there is zero stutter then I have no reason to have any doubts!

@yummylee you seem to be forgetting Lazlow's BEST performance which was VROCK in GTA Vice City (the best GTA)

#29 Posted by SomeJerk (3145 posts) -

PS3 lead platform, baby!

#30 Edited by jimmyfenix (3830 posts) -

@yummylee: Trevor probably FK`ed in Micheal`s cup of coffee :D

@demoskinos: I don't see anything wrong with it personally. I had a similar feeling when saints row credited porn stars as producers of saints row 2. It happens everywhere.

@humanity Actually pc gamer Germany said that. Which probably leads the question why a PC site was shown the 360 version :p

#31 Posted by Demoskinos (14574 posts) -

@jimmyfenix: Porn stars aren't criminals. Rewarding criminals for being criminals is sort of where thr line is for me Im not going to support that.

#32 Posted by HoM3R (205 posts) -

Its not pc gamer but the german site PCGames and thats just a gamesite that started as pc only but now does everything.
But im just really glad to hear that xbox version is fine and think it never was a problem. Rockstar just showed PS3 for their deal with Sony and to prove "this is NOT GTA4 for PS3".
Next gen starts in 2 weeks!

This is the last time I look at any GTA info before the game comes out.

This picture has made me more excited than anything else I have seen. GIVE IT TO MEEEEEEEE!

#34 Posted by Humanity (8834 posts) -

@jimmyfenix: When did we start trusting the Germans?!

#35 Posted by jimmyfenix (3830 posts) -

@demoskinos: Fair enough but for me it really drives home the amount of detail they went to make a breathing city Rockstar have always delivered with the amount of detail in games but this game is has taken it to the next level.

I am not coming to this game for the killing or shoot that guy in the head moments i am excited to see the atmosphere, detail, narrative , wildlife and the way Rockstar have focused on the niche aspects in the open world genre. They proved it with Red dead and i am Excited to see the hard work pay off in GTA V.

#37 Posted by phrosen (143 posts) -

@demoskinos: Yea! Screw The Wire. Obama supports criminals.

Good for you. That image might be T the same resolution that the game will run on the consoles.

@jimmyfenix: Porn stars aren't criminals. Rewarding criminals for being criminals is sort of where thr line is for me Im not going to support that.

Well *technically* being in a gang doesn't make you a criminal, neither does it say if and how they got rewarded but I get where you're coming from.

#41 Posted by Nekroskop (2786 posts) -

If they can't get the PS3 version running well, I'm gonna break a copy off in Dan Houser's ass. They fooled me once with GTA4.

#42 Edited by AngriGhandi (757 posts) -

Rockstar continue to be the kings of trickling out information at exactly the right pace to build everyone up to a fever pitch of excitement just in time for a game's release, regardless of how jaded most of those people normally are. It's kind of amazing.

Ubi- "Here's two trailers a week for three solid months" -soft could learn a lot from them.

#43 Posted by Demoskinos (14574 posts) -

@jimmyfenix: Fair enough I suppose. Others can do as they will. I'll just stick to Mondo in KiD and the jiggle jiggle in DOA5U. :-P

Man i'm so bored of hearing people bitch about a game they haven't even played yet. That picture excites me because I see some huge amazing city to explore, which hopefully will be full of all the usual crazy GTA business. If you are going to start whining because a game of this scale has some muddy textures its probably not for you. Graphics, whatever, I know they will be servicable. Fallout 3 is one of my favourite games of all time and it can't be worse than that.

@nekroskop said:

Unless something has changed, the PS3 remains the lead platform. That would make at least one mistake they learned from, ever.

(Gameplay trailer states it's all PS3 direct feed footage)

#46 Posted by ThePickle (4155 posts) -

They're CLEARLY lying all of these people were drugged and shown an episode of Breaking Bad on Blu Ray and were told it was GTA V. There's no way a veteran developer with millions on dollars could create a good game on an PlayStation or Xbox.

#47 Posted by jimmyfenix (3830 posts) -

@leebmx: Dont worry that guy is still probably waiting for Red Dead to be announced for pc :p

@angrighandi: Fun fact Alex and Patrick have put all future ubisoft press releases in the junk folder.

@nekroskop: It will be fine!! if not i will join you! i dont live that far from Rockstar North`s headquarters anyways.

@demoskinos: I might check out DOA5U looks decent !

@somejerk: there is no lead platform; both were developed in parallel. Rockstar has likely been showing off the PS3 version because GTA IV and RDR didn't perform as well on PS3. That's my guess anyway.
