Happy holidays everybody.
I'll be ridin in my 6-4 to the pier to get in MA MUTHAPHUKKIN SUBMARINE, BITCH!!
GOTY for sure, I really hope that dog is a selectable weapon like an AK or a glock.
Is a dog one of your homies? That would be pretty dope. Especially if you can take it with you into vehicles other vehicles...

Oh man that last screen is almost selling me on the game. All I need now is some actual gameplay showing the shooting being competent and I'm good, first Rockstar game I'll have bought since GTA4.
The shooting was 100x better in RDR and even better-ER! in Max Payne 3.

Why didn't they wait until next gen? WHY!

I hope this game mixes the serious tone of GTA4 with the silliness/craziness of San Andreas outside of the main plot.
So ridiculously hype for this. Does anyone know if it's seeing a simultaneous PC release? I' 'll almost definitely be double- dipping otherwise.
The F16 is a beautiful aircraft, really dig them using a real design
EDIT: Whoa, I was wrong. The back end is from an... F18? Think the air intake is different, too. Ah, well.

GTA IV already mixed a serious tone with goofiness. That's one of the reasons why it seemed a bit all over the place and directionless. To me, anyway. Like, a super serious ass story just doesn't exactly match a scenario like making a phone call inside a wrecked car upside down, while people around you just seem not to notice.
@awesomeusername: True enough but I've learned too many times to never expect a games design and mechanics to be great just because a prior title made by the same studio was. Staff changes happen, team leads mix around, people leave, hell for all we know most of the people working on GTA5 had almost nothing to do with Red Dead or Max Payne =P Still, I'm optimistic that it at least won't be as awful as GTA4's shooting was haha.

@GetEveryone: It's definitely not releasing on the PC simultaneously. All we've gotten from Rockstar is that the PC version "is up for consideration."
Christ on a crumpet.

All of the screens have been on consoles, and considering how bad GTA4 was on PC I can't imagine they will bother with 5. Did it even sell remotely well on PC at all? Game looks eeeeeeeeeeh.

You were only wrong in that you were right both times. It's clearly a double-tailed aircraft, with potential space for a second engine exhaust there (though it does seem more shaped to one large one instead), as following a similar scheme of the beloved F-18, but the cockpit canopy, as well as main intake under the fuselage, and even the curvature of the forward wing sections on the side of the fuselage all point to the F-16. I think it's only fair to say that Rockstar's satirical nature in game design (including their vehicles and pseudo branding) has held through the design of that aircraft, and made a very interesting F-16/18 hybrid. It's just different enough to avoid legal troubles.
On the topic of the game's much-awaited release, I hope Rockstar steps up soon and decides to make a proper PC version for this game that clearly deserves it. Not that I won't double down again if necessary, but it would be nice keeping all of my fun in that game contained to a single platform from the start, instead of splitting my literally hundreds of hours fucking around in that world between two.
Edit: For additional F-16 markings, note the position of the tail section, seated full back instead of slightly ahead as on the F-18, as well as the downward-angled horizontal flight surfaces of the tail, and see similar small fins on upper and lower fuselage towards the rear of the aircraft. The sensor spike on the nose is also a rare addition to the F-18, which houses most of its sensors under the nose cone and on the tips of its various flight surfaces.
@Lazyaza: I believe the majority of the teams at each R* studio are separate, but every R* game since GTA III has had pretty much the same core group of people at the helm (namely Leslie Benzies and the Houser brothers) and every game from them since Table Tennis has been on the RAGE engine using Euphoria physics. Traditionally you're spot on of course with all of the shuffling around and turnover in the industry, but there is an element of continuation when it comes to R* games I think because of the aforementioned elements.
This is sort of separate to what you're talking about, but Dan Houser's also said that they're bringing in some leads from the Midnight Club LA to help develop the driving system with them. Pretty neat I think, hopefully it turns out well.

Fuck yes. The driving physics in MC:LA are sublime. Still my favorite open-world driving game, even over Forza Horizon.
Now bring in the shooting / movement from Max Payne 3 and you have the ultimate game.
