You Will Get to See a Grand Theft Auto V Trailer In VIII Days
@LifeByDegrees: The font, colour and style (with the elaborate banner and such behind the word five) much more closely resembles English currency, in my opinion. But there's so little to go on, it's pointless to argue about at this point, it's a font and style used by almost every single English speaking country. I'd just like to see something outside of the US for a change.
Can we know start guessing where the game will be set in?I bet on San Andreas or their version of Washington D.C.
this is so messed up... the US 5 dollar bill does NOT have a roman numeral on it... it's got an actual number 5, the hell is going on with that logo?
I have no idea why all the hate on 4, I love every single GTA game and played through everyone of them.
Will definitely play 5.
D.C. could be great, but I still feel like Vice City could be represented better with that logo. Here's my theory. Think about VC, that game was all about becoming a kingpin, and "V" not only represents the Roman numeral, but also being the first letter of Vice. The fact that there's so much care put into the "V" makes me feel like it means more than just "Hey, this is part 5", after all, no other numbered GTA games had special treatment of the logo art. And why have a "V" AND the word "FIVE" ? We all know what a Roman numeral looks like... I think it's the letter v, and not a Roman numeral at all. Besides, 5 USD has no Roman numerals on the bill.

No one logo should have all that power...
The game will take place in the 21th century and you will play as a schizoid man.
Also, it will be set inside Kanye West.
I would like this game now
Being a huge GTA fan I am thrilled to hear that they are making a fifth GTA game. So much so that I am going to spend my day off finally beating BOGT. For the people that haven't been following along, this game will almost certainly be taking place in SA because of some casting calls that went out a while ago.

People who say GTAIV isn't as good as San Andreas are fucking lunatics.
Edit: Also, yay new game. MY PREDICTION: It will come out on the Wii U.
I still haven't finished GTAIV, since the story bored me to tears a few missions in.
Might actually sit down and finish that sucker now. I really hope they take the good things from GTA:VC and GTA:SA this time.

The release date for the trailer is 1102 and in GTA vice city the player has a safehouse called 1102 Washington Street.
also, who was the punk arguing that the next two GTAs wouldn't have numbers in their titles? Yeah. Zing.
They didn't if you count The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony as the next two GTAs, which I'm kind of inclined to do. They weren't as big, but it was the same idea as the two games after GTA III. Same engine, different characters and story.
Between the way the green looks in the roman numeral and the scroll spelled out five, I'd say it has something to do with money. As in the boatloads Rockstar will make with this game. Seriously though, I) instantly thought "five dollar bill" when I saw that.
Also, new GTA. Sweet.
@Rebirth1337: I've been living in DC for 7 years, it really is a city of contrasts (very wealthy upper NW DC, poverty stricken SE DC across the Anacostia and very distinct neighborhoods between), so that could lend itself well if indeed DC is the setting.
Now you have set me up to dislike whatever trailer is released if it does not contain a Kanye West song.
That said, Otis would also be a great track for a GTA trailer.
From the green of the V and the old school bond around it in my opinion suggests Ireland (the royal bond strongly suggesting an alcolic beverage which also is a big feature in Ireland)
Maybe a football hooligans in ireland, irish mafia? we don't know, I'll be interested in seeing what the trailer brings it out to be
Words cannot express my unenthusiasm. Oh wait, there's one: "Meh..."
Seriously, I've tried all the GTA games and given up with a bad taste in my mouth every time. Maybe I just don't "get it." I liked Red Dead, though.
Saints row is fun in co-op but it's no gta, the city, physics and graphics all seem like a up res PS2 game, now gta iv my favourite game of all time (burnout paradise no2) is a step up the city is still the most impressive thing to come out of this generation from its weather, to it's people, to the hours of hours of radio stations, I remember at about 6 in the morning after unlocking the 2nd island listening to the journey driving down times square while a lightning storm was happening and just driving and being so entertained changing the station and kayne west flashing lights came on, at that moment I knew this was a watermark of gaming.
I think they'll drop the V when the trailer comes out and it'll say GTA Vice City. The 5 represents money to me and it just makes me think of Vice City. If it's Vice City I will jizz. That game has to be my favourite GTA game. I haven't been this hyped for a trailer in ages, and I remember Gamespot counting down the minutes to the GTA IV trailer and no one could watch it because the servers were overloaded.
Good times :)
