Any thoughts if they should or not? With GTA3 hitting phones it no longer seems R* is hesitant to spend money on rereleasing some of its library.
Grand Theft Auto
Grand Theft Auto is a sandbox-violence game, that has drawn attention all over the world, and has pretty much become one of the most noticeable criminal-sandbox franchises ever.
GTA HD collection? Why not?
I'd definitely be up for an HD collection of both GTA3 and GTAVC. Never played San Andreas oddly enough.
I already own every main gta game past 2, so I'm not really interested in buying them again. It would be cool for newcomers though.
Only if they make it more modern control wise. While the past GTA games are still amazing in many aspects, the controls are archaic, and maybe some checkpoint spread throughout missions. I always felt that doing the missions all over again was more of a chore if I ever lost. And gosh, I'm going to sound like a "noob" in general, but it'd be nice to adopt the regain health system as well. The way Red Dead Redemption was perfect. I already own all the GTA games, but if they made an updated HD game, then I might think of getting it. I love Vice City, and think all the others are great achievements as well.

If they completely overhauled the mission structures in those games, then sure.
How so? What I am imagining what you mean would completely negate the point of an HD collection. It would be more like a whole new game, set in those locations
Precisely, because it was that very mission structure in Vice City that murdered my interest in finishing the game or even playing another minute of any game in the franchise. As much as I enjoyed the atmosphere of Vice City, the gameplay was painfully bad, even in its day.
I doubt it. Two tops with modern compression. An HD remake would also be the opportunity to put GTA on the Wii in anticipation of possible putting GTAV on the WiiU.Would all three cities fit on one DVD?
Id love a remake, but I don't think many companies want to put in the dollars to revamp a game.
However, Vice City running on RAGE would be amazing.
I have to imagine so. I'd totally buy an HD GTA collection.Would all three cities fit on one DVD?

Oh well I agree 100%. I was able to get through GTA 3 and Vice City, but I have never managed to beat SA or GTA 4 because the mission structures in these games are so damn tedious and repetitive. I always enjoy the first half of these games, but by the time I am about 75% of the way through I am spent.
I almost didn't finish RDR because the mission structure is the samething, but I stuck around because everything else in the game was fanastic.
Hopefully we see some kind of change when it comes to the missions in GTA V.
