A guest costume is usually an alternate costume from another recognizable franchise. A guest costume is never a guest character or cameo appearance because it is quite clear that the person wearing the costume is not the genuine article. Occasionally, the guest costume will apply to parts available in a Create-a-character builders that were clearly included specifically for the purpose of making the costume available for use. Due to the creativity of users, for it to be a true guest costume, developers need to state so explicitly, such as was the case with the inclusion of KOS-MOS's armor in Soulcalibur III.
