Introduction

Finding all of the briefcases in Resistance 2 can be an interesting challenge, and one which nets you a nice trophy for your efforts.  It's also a good way to get some of the interesting backstory which isn't in the game itself.  You'll learn more about the characters, locations, and technology.

For obvious reasons, this guide will contain spoilers of portions of the Resistance 2 storyline, so you've been warned.

Note that the numbering of the briefcases does not always correspond to the order in which you might find them in a particular chapter.

Prologue


Briefcase 2

After Daedalus escapes, go into the containment room. Instead of following the Major up the broken ramp, take the other one. The second ramp takes you around room and straight to the briefcase.

Briefcase 1

Towards the end of the prologue, you’ll follow the Major over a destroyed bridge. Then he’ll enter a trench and turn right, while yelling at you to follow him. Don’t listen. Instead, go straight ahead through the trench to pick up briefcase one.

Chapter 1


Briefcase 6

Cross the first pool of Furies and enter the long hallway on the other side of it. Fight your way to the second door on the right and enter the small room. You’ll find briefcase six on the floor of this room.

Briefcase 5

In the moon pool room you have two flood locks to seal. When sealing the one on your right (when you enter the room), pick up briefcase five. It’s sitting on the center computer console.

Briefcase 7

This case is sitting on the computer station in the middle of the room where you pick up your first MP5 Pulse Cannon - don’t forget the cannon's secondary fire only works at close range.

Briefcase 4

After fighting the Kraken the first time, you’ll descend into a large room in an elevator. The case is lying on the floor, in the open, in the second section of this large room.

Briefcase 8

After exiting the base and discovering San Francisco has been destroyed, you’ll fight through several waves of enemies. Briefcase eight is lying in the open, to the left of a ramp you go up just before you drop the doctor off at the helicopter.

Briefcase 3

After you pick up the inhibitors the base will begin imploding. Don’t lose your head and you’ll find this case lying on the ground in a series of long hallways. Take your time (the base won’t really be destroyed). It’s easy to run past this one if you aren’t looking around.

Chapter 2


Briefcase 9

This case is at the far end of the logging camp, just before you jump off the bridge into the stream. Be careful not to jump before you grab this case, since there’s no way to get back up – soldiers don’t like climbing.

Briefcase 10

After schlepping up a river you’ll arrive at a small town in the forest. Briefcase ten is in a house you must go through in the center of town. It’s on the top floor, so be careful not to fall through the hole in the floor before you pick it up.

Chapter 3


Briefcase 13

You begin the level by climbing through the basement and walking out the front door of a small house. Before running off to splatter pod-people aliens, make sure you check behind the car to the left. One of the elusive brown briefcases will be there (the color of the case has no effect on anything).

Briefcase 12

For some reason, the game decides it’s a better idea to crawl through a flooded basement than bust open a door on the first floor or climb over a small fence. After you find the flooded basement’s stairs, climb out and look in the room to your left. We’re still not sure exactly where this case is, but walk around enough and you’ll bump into the stupid thing.

Briefcase 11

Towards the end of the level you have to fight your way through a gas station and then you’re shot at by aliens in a diner. Don’t run straight up to the diner. First, look to the right of the area between the gas pumps and the restaurant and find briefcase eleven behind some army vehicles.

Chapter 4


Briefcase 14

After two Ravagers blast through a wall early in the level, kill them and go through the hole they created. You’ll see a tent to the left.

Briefcase 16

After locating Doc Malakov, follow the tunnel to the left to find briefcase 16. Don’t worry, the Doc won’t mind waiting for you.

Briefcase 15

The second time you’re chased by the swarm monster, look for a hallway on your left that contains the following: One dead soldier and one briefcase.

Chapter 5


Briefcase 17

After a short swimming section, you’ll have a quick fight across a flooded section of road. Briefcase seventeen is hidden in a room in the building on your side of the flood. Make sure you don’t leapfrog across the cars in the water before you pick up this briefcase.

Chapter 6


Briefcase 18

After entering the underground base, you’ll run past two hellfire cannons and have the choice of two hallways. Make sure you enter the hallway on the right. With a little exploring, you’ll find a room with blue lockers. The case is on a bench behind some of the lockers.

Chapter 7


Briefcase 19

This case is in the attic of the large mansion in the swamp. It’s sitting next to the LARP, so you can’t miss it.

Briefcase 20

This case is on the second floor of the riverboat in one of the small rooms. It’s next to a dead soldier - he was a good man.
