Wipeout HD Trophy Guide

Completed guide for the not so straight forward or obvious trophies for Wipeout HD

Execute your first successful barrel roll.

Press Left, Right, Left on the D-Pad when in the air, do this on a track with high jumps

Absorb 500 items.

Press Circle button when you collect a weapon to absorb, this will also increase your shield.

Complete 20 two-player, split-screen races.

You need 2 controllers, and do tournaments to get this quicker, it will save time from going back through menus etc.

Win every race of an 8 stage Racebox tournament on Skilled or Elite difficulty

Chose a track you are most comfortable with, then select it for every race. And use “Skilled” difficulty as it is easier, also switching off weapons mode will make it easier in some cases.

Eliminate at least two opponents in any race.

Requires a bit of luck, and you shouldn’t race to win the race, stay at the back, but this can also be done online with your friends, just kill them and you will get it. You don’t need to kill 2 at the same time as some people think, any 2 kills will do.

Complete 99 laps in a single Racebox, Speed Lap session

When in a Speed Lap race chose Phantom Class and also switch on “Pilot Assist” and then use a rubber band or tape to press the “X” button down, and chose the shortest race for it to finish quicker. Should take around 30-40 minutes, you will also receive around 2900 XP points.

Finish an online 12 race tournament.

Requires all players to remain in the race and not quit, which can be hit or miss, playing with friends will be more reliable.

Finish 10 online races.

This doesn’t require you to win, so chose the easiest mode, and don’t bother waiting for all 8 players, just start the races as soon as someone joins. This has to be online obviously.

Win 10 online races.

Host your own race, a tournament with any levels will suffice, and invite a friend, you can start the race with only 2 players, and these will count as wins.

Eliminate 50 online opponents.

Although more difficult, race the Phantom class races online, and chose a vehicle with 100% shield, the Triakis.

Reach Zone 50 (Subsonic) in Zone Mode on any track using only airbrakes and sideshift. Motion sensor controls must be turned off.

Use the track “” for this, because it has the most straight sections and speed pads. Driving over speed pads will level up the zones quicker, and practice will help. Also I have found playing slower custom music will help ease any tension, although this is opinion. Getting perfect Zones will increase your shield by 10 points

In Zone Mode, reach Zone 75 on any track.

Use the technique above, but requires a tonne of practise.

Get 20 consecutive perfect zones in a single Zone Mode event.

This requires careful driving, and it doesn’t mean 20 perfect LAPS, but just perfect zones. You should only try to attempt this in the first 20 zones, if you crash at 5 or 10 number zone then just retry. Race on Anulpha Pass

Unlock every ship skin in the game.

Zone mode can get you around a 1000 points for a steady 10 minutes in zone mode, or using the Speed Lap mode anduse a rubber band or tape to press the “X” button down, and chose the shortest race for it to finish quicker. Should take around 30-40 minutes, you will also receive around 2900 XP points.

Execute and land a successful barrel roll on Moa Therma

To do this you need to use the boost and steer yourself into the slanted side walls and then quickly press Left, Right, Left on the D-Pad when in the air, the areas near the start of the map are ideal for this. Or do it when there are multiple ups and downs in a section, and use the boost to launch yourself Note this won’t work on a magnetised area.  

Obtain 100,000 loyalty points for any team.

Using the technique for lapped out to achieve lots of XP, or alternately play Zone mode.

Finish an eight player online race with all players using ships that are displaying Campaign Skins.

This requires you to get all gold medals in the single player mode to unlock the Silver skin for any ship, then race online with 7 other players who have the same skin on any ship.

This is difficult, but I would advise to keep an eye out for other players who appear to have the silver skins, write down their username and add 7 other players…and them message them to see if they will help you out to get the trophy.

Equal or beat the lap time of 30.82 seconds on (Forward), Speed Lap, Venom using the Piranha.

This is very difficult, and requires a lot of practise, also you need to be able to perform barrel rolls very quickly from short bumps. In this race you need to perform 3-4 EXTRA barrel rolls then the obvious ones. Check this youtube link and copy what he does but for all the laps.

All other trophies are either obvious to achieve but just require patience and practise or just pure luck.
