All Dungeon and Racial Sets for All Races

#1 Edited by Dark_Lord_Spam (2512 posts) - 9 months, 24 days ago

Just came across this comprehensive gallery of all the high-end armors and weapons available from merchants in the beta.

A lot of this stuff is super impressive, with a few caveats:

  • most charr headgear makes their horns disappear completely, which is just gonna fucking emasculate my charr main
  • the Golden and Seraph sets are identical except for color, and several of those skins are used for entirely different weapons (e.g. their staff and trident skins are exactly the same)

What do you guys think? Any stand-out favorites or concerns?

I mainly looked at norn light armour, which is what I'll most likely be wearing. The Furnace reward one is definitely the best. Also, heavy nightmare looks badass. So does inquest heavy. Man, all these awesome heavy sets are making me want to go warrior or guardian now...

I like the norn tier 3 heavy racial armour. I don't plan on playing as a heavy norn, but it's a great look. Maybe without the hat though.

It's not shown here, but I'm also liking the armour that you get from the Hall of Monuments for Warriors/Guardians, which was based on the armour from the original GW1 box.

Norn definitely have the coolest armour.

This is my favourite set (Norn Ascalon Catacombs): http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/image1046.png

Does anyone have a pic of the human AC armor?

Seraph and Golden weapons are the coolest looking weapons IMO (they use the exact same skins except one is silver and the other gold).

As someone who plans on playing the largest Norn Warrior possible Norn T3 looks awesome, except for the spikes on the shuolder not being dyeable when I previewed it in BWE3. I think i'll wait to get the Nobelmen armor from Caudecus's Manor instead of Ascolonian. Dredge and Inquest armors also looks sweet, sucker for large shoulder pieces.

The swords looks pretty sweet Great and Single ones. The Hammers don't look as interesting as I hoped but they could change that.

Heavy Nightmare armor couple with Molten weapons. Aww yeaah.

#7 Posted by boxoflawls (91 posts) - 9 months, 24 days ago

Oh man. Asura tier 3 light armor looks so hype.

#8 Posted by supamon (909 posts) - 9 months, 24 days ago

Have to say they look pretty good. That art style/design alone is making me hyped up again even though I'm trying to keep my expectations low.

Hope this isn't all the high end gear on display, it would suck that everything is already on display before the game is out.

@WinterSnowblind: Holy shit you can finally get the GW1 armour on the box! Mind = Shattered.

#10 Posted by Adamsons (876 posts) - 9 months, 24 days ago

Works for me. Just need to decide - human or norn.

Weapon skins must just be what is available from the BWE vendors, someone posted up a ton of datamined gear a little while ago and a lot of GW1 weapons returned, examples - sephis / krytan axes, crystalline swords.

Edit - if someone has a link to the hundreds of datamined weapons can you share, I can't remember where i saw that.

I've got a video up of the dungeon armors on a female sylvari, I think Dontain has 1 for all races/genders. Some great looking stuff there.

My sylvari will be rolling with her racial armor though. Nothing protects you from damage like a bunch of leaves!

Sorrow's Embrace and Arah light armour look awesome.

Tier 3 Divinity Commander (heavy) is my favourite. It's the armour that the grunt Seraphs wear (I think that is what they were called) but it looks so awesome. I want it.

Awesome Link!

For armor I like all of the races sets, as for dungeons:

Divinity's Council, Nightmare and Arah

For Weapons:

Dark Asuran, Inquest and Seraph

Finally light armour that doesn't look too bland and boring.

Think I'm gonna play charr just for how fucking sick this looks

I'm confused as hell on how armor even works in this at all. I'm guessing these are all dungeon sets or tier raid sets or something? I mean, I don't know what I'm looking at when it is named "Warden" or "Nightmare".

In general, I think the gear looks cool. I'm stoked as shit for August 28th.

#18 Posted by shinboy630 (866 posts) - 9 months, 24 days ago

@jakob187: You get it by trading in tokens, which are earned in the explorable mode of their respective dungeon.

My armour. Confirmed. For the rest of my GW2 life.

There's supposed to be high-end gear that's exclusive to stuff like crafting and WvW drops, and none of that would be displayed at merchants.

There aren't any raid tiers in the game. All of this stuff is of equal statage to gear of the same level.

The color choices by the user in these sets makes me hate everything.

#22 Edited by Curious_George (107 posts) - 9 months, 23 days ago

I don't even plan to roll a female but this might be my favorite (male version is cool too, but not on a hairy Norn). Immediately reminded me of Maleficent.

#23 Posted by Benny (1615 posts) - 9 months, 23 days ago
@Curious_George There's even a norn face that's based on Angelina jolie
#24 Edited by Maystack (868 posts) - 9 months, 23 days ago

Looking through these again, I can't help but notice how ridiculous all light armour looks on that big Norn. I think I'm either going to have to try and make my norn as non-bulky as possible, or play as a female.

#25 Posted by RobbieMac (533 posts) - 9 months, 23 days ago

@Beaudacious: Those are the defaults the armour come in. You could preview armour sets but you couldn't change the colours.

Can't wait to get some heavy armor for my Charr. I'll have to remember to join you guys when you all do W v W v W or dungeon stuff when the game comes out.

Here is a pretty cool video of all the dungeon armor on all the races (male and female)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEJDW8KjVos&list=UULT5liaU_UYbjTT9M11e-tg&index=1&feature=plcp

Dontain is becoming one of my favorite youtubers, he is pretty funny.

I really hope that Honor of the Waves isn't an underwater dungeon because that heavy human armour looks amazing. Crucible of Eterenity heavy also looks pretty sweet.

Does anyone who did AC how many times you need to complete a dungeon to have enough tokens for a full set? I hope it isn't something ridiculous.

#29 Posted by Dark_Lord_Spam (2512 posts) - 9 months, 23 days ago

@UssjTrunks: I don't know the exact numbers, but I heard it was set to an artificially high requirement for the betas so people couldn't obtain the rewards.

Most of the pieces in the video above are 120-130 tokens, and according to guru you get around 40 tokens per run. That will mean 15-16 runs for a full armour set. Not too bad I guess.

Someone is saying the pieces will cost 100 tokens, so that will be even better if true. As long as it isn't more than 15 runs I'm fine with it.

While I'm not getting this game... Armour sets do look awesome.
