I completely freaked out when I realized that I played over 3300 hours of GW1...aouch...over the last 6 years, I spent a third of a year playing GW1...and I stopped playing it like 2 years ago...so its about a 10% of my time over 4 year devoted to GW1...should I laugh or cry...I still try to figure out...

so what about you guys ?

I've been playing since just after the game first launched. Although a good deal of my play time was spent waiting for festival hats.

Not as much as yours, but I just checked and I've got 1,200 hours logged in. Got GW1 september of '05 (Holy shit!), and have been playing on and off since then.

The 174 hours was roughly in the same month when I created this character to farm out all the HoM rewards in one go. Everything else was from my original Wammo I created way back in September 05 ish where I reached the final mission of the prophecies campaign (simply couldn't beat the final mission) and some various PVP characters I wish I hadn't deleted so I could have their birthday presents.

AFAIK the way I filled out the HoM was the absolute cheapest and quickest way to do it solo so this is roughly how long you could expect it to take if you were to buy the game now as a total noob like I pretty much was having not played the game for over 6 years. I would absolutely recommend it because the game is still pretty incredible and it's pretty much all soloable.

Aside from about 20 hours afking survivor and around 40 hours afking nine rings, its mostly gameplay.

Started playing around the time Factions came out. Last time I checked, I had about 2,600 hours.

I am both upset at how high this number is upset that it is not higher.

Started playing launch day. Accumulated almost 5,000 hours between then and 2009.

About 80% of this time is in PvP.

Man, I thought my playtime was high, but I'm the second lowest here. Here's hoping that GW1 experience will translate well, because if so Lincoln Force will be smashing it!

I got Prophecies about a month after launch. I think I logged about 300 hours total. I didn't get any of the expansions though because none of my friends were playing the game.

Well I am relieved to a certain extend...there are a few out there that spend even more time on this game than me...but not that many...does that make me hopelessly attached to GW?

for my defense, I never played any other MMO...I tried Aion but I did not withstand the cheer boredom of grinding very long nor did I play any other games for years while I was playing GW1...well that is true for the first few years...after that, I did play GW like one hour in the evening to get my PvP fix in some radom arenas and played other games...I guess I prefer not to count how many hours per week I spend playing games in the evening....omg...T_T

About 100 hours during the two Preview Weekends (a temporary insanity which made for one of my favorite gaming memories). At release, the whole purely story missions & tournament of kings deal of the Preview Weekends, which I loved, got dilluted by all that other crap of lesser stock (at least that's how I felt about it back then) - and I gave up on it quite quickly and returned to Azeroth.

So maybe 150-200 hours total.

Fear not though, your 3300 hours are nothing measured against my '/played' time in World of Warcraft, which is way over a year total - tens of thousands of hours.
