Newly-minted economist over at ArenaNet, John Smith, has posted a small blurb about his role along with a fairly detailed info-graphic that might appeal to idiots like me who think the market of an MMO is something interesting.

Gotta make that skrilla.  Probably the profession you can make the most money with, plus you gotta make use of those ring and amulet slots.

Hey, I'm actually pretty interested in stuff like this. Don't go mocking my interests! I'll be interested to see how they plan to keep wealth distribution close. Does GW2 embrace socialism!?

at this point I think it embraces speculationism more than anything else...seriously, who actually spend time crafting / collecting things in these beta while knowing it was all boring/hard work stuff for nothing since toons would be wiped?...so it is absolutely not representative of the actual population comes release, just a bunch of hardcore crafters in my opinion

I totally agree that it isn't representative. Now, when we are a month or two in to the post-launch game then I want to see another fancy graphic with all of this stuff.

@selfconfessedcynic: You didn't know you could buy bags? Where do you live, under a rock???

Glorious Jeweler Master Race. It's probably the most popular because at low level it seems to be the most useful. I was making things that were super good for lvl 20-30 characters at Jeweling ~100, and those things were much better than anything I had found via drops.

Arghh that's the type of info I get lost in. Glad to see my cooking and artificing are the lowest professions going. Means more money for me.
