Guild Wars 2 is an online RPG developed by ArenaNet, and continues the subscriptionless business model of the original Guild Wars. The game is set about 250 years after the events of its predecessor in a world devastated by the ancient elder dragons resurfacing after millennia of slumber.

Anyway, I have to say that even at this early stage, I feel like my pre-purchase of this game is going to be well worth it. One of the most fun filled weekends of gaming I've had in a looooong time.

Actually, the humans have a personal story quest where you are defending an old woman apothecary and she looks pretty nasty. Ugly people exist, but player models don't generally look very bad.
Anyway, I have to say that even at this early stage, I feel like my pre-purchase of this game is going to be well worth it. One of the most fun filled weekends of gaming I've had in a looooong time.
At this early stage I have already spent over 36 hours with the game. That's already more than I have spent with most games realsed in the last couple of years, it has already been well worth it.
@Subjugation: Haha that Moa is awesome! Would be pretty funny to see everyone wiped by a Moa. I'm annoyed the finale was at such a terrible time for Europeans, I had work the next day so there was no chance I could stay up all night for it... Was it any good?
Also, I totally have video of a Veteran Veteran Ghost Warrior (or something similar). Looking at your Champion Bloodthirsty Moa bird is this evidence of the name combination thing going crazy or is this standard?

The event was alright in my opinion. It was a pretty obvious stress test, having so many people in one location grinding on mobs for an hour. I was expecting something more like the giants they spawned in Divinity's Reach for the press beta. It was kind of funny to see the critters that are normally harmless going around and 1-2 shotting people. Not to mention the Legendary White Bunny (Monty Python anyone?).
As for the naming conventions, I'm not entirely sure if it is reflective of what they are going to do or if it was just silly for the sake of having a silly finale event. I'm leaning toward the latter, but who knows. And it was a Champion Bloodthirsty Black Moa. Get it right, son.

That's really good to hear. Based on the stuff I've seen and heard (granted, I've been generally avoiding coverage), I was fearing the worst.
I'm one that generally isn't fond of hyperbole, but I can say in this situation that it isn't over exaggerated. The world itself and the art design, I cannot stress enough, really floored me. The game is beautiful, which is not something I ever really expected to say for an MMO. There are also so many awesome little details and surprises sprinkled around. It really is top notch.
So the nurf to Mending on warriors hurts (I'm pretty sure I just can't take on a conditions engineer atm), but my two favourite builds are still pretty good.
As for Mending, they should at least increase the heal. The new healing signet might be better if you have signet mastery, but otherwise I think mending is still the best healing skill we have.
You can add restorative strength to give the skill more meaning, but that requires 10 points in strength.

I'm more happy for the 11 kills +8 skirmisher on my rifle build (the first one) - that is made for hit and run, but I racked it up on that round.
Anyway, yeah - I agree to both points on Mending. Bigger heal, or maybe a heal for each condition removed like the Necro one, but 25s recharge only 2 conditions removed and very low healing? It's odd that it's still our best, but I agree that it is.

@shinboy630: It's one of the "re-designed" GW1 armor skins you can buy from the Trading Post. The medium armor is Krytan and the light version is Profane.
@Dark_Lord_Spam: Yeah I heard about those but never got to see one in-game because I didn't play the recent stress test. I'm kind of happy they chose prim for heavy armor. It was so tacky yet screamed Guild Wars to me.

Because the two hour-long stress tests have both used the release version of the client, I was able to snap some awesome shots of Ebonhawke. Unfortunately, holding shift seems to have not disable the UI for whatever reason, so they're not really sharing material... Ah, well.
@Dark_Lord_Spam: Yeah, holding shift hasn't worked since BWE3 if I am remembering correctly. Unfortunately I found out after I had taken dozens of screens. What @Xyber said has been the go-to for now. I'm hoping they re-implement it soon.
Anyone get this sort of error, where it's all super flickery and blue n' stuff? My display drivers have been crashing quite a lot while playing as well, especially in certain areas (Gendarran Fields, The Grove, etc.). I'm on ATI, latest drivers.
So is the story prevalant throughout the game, or is it just the usual "this is who you are, this is what's happened, this is what you must do, GO" type of MMO?
