This video that youtube user corporalgregg2 posted is just tragic to watch.  Whoever agreed to put Kurt into Guitar Hero should be ashamed of themselves.

(sorry that I didn't credit you before, Greg)

Oh god.... Kurt Cobain rappin Flava Flave's (Public Enemy?) stuff...

.....with XB avatars on stage... with a skeleton guy on drums?

I think he may literally be rolling in his grave.

They need to get DJ AM up in there, with a bit of Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast hahaha.

#6 Posted by GuinessBandit (6 posts) -

Agreed, especially the first minute. WTF is going on @ 00:07-00:10!!??
#7 Posted by floodiastus (1262 posts) -

Fantastic, would be equally awkward to see Puff Daddy singing twisted sisters tracks though :)

Nirvana; the voice of 90's counter culture....NOW A PLAYABLE CHARACTER IN GUITAR HERO 5!
Hysterical.
Remind me who cares about licensee artists APPEARING   in Guitar Hero?

Nobody I know of. I've always used my created character.

This, if they make fun of Cobain with such heresy, why not take a piss out of the OD DJ.
Like having him sing "Cocaine" or something
#11 Posted by _Horde (839 posts) -

Wow. It's the damned youth that has brought upon this abomination of culture!

#12 Posted by xDARKxKnight (91 posts) -

Looks horrific...the XB avatars make it look even worse. The avatars dont fit into the game at all...

Whats going on from like 2:35ish mark...how come the instruments are invisible? That a "cool" option in the game or something?

#13 Posted by Sabin (18 posts) -

Wow....I just...

I don't even know what to say to that

This,
Kurt Cobain should only play nirvana songs
#15 Posted by onyxghost (319 posts) -

That has to be the worst thing I've seen in at least a week and a half!

#16 Posted by joey (987 posts) -

But don't forget that Johnny Cash is also a playable character too.

#17 Posted by Tebbit (4486 posts) -

This is a terrible terrible sin.

#18 Posted by CoursinLarry (8 posts) -

For all we know, Kurt Cobain would have loved this.  Let's not forget that he once called "Weird" Al an American poet or something like that.  So, obviously the guy liked stupid shit.

I can only hope that after I die, I'm made a playable character in the Guitar Hero franchise.

People are way too freaking serious about this.  He did approved a Weird Al parody song in his life time.

I fail to see the connection between approving of an artist who does parodies and that abomination of a video.

I don't think this is the end of the world, but those two things aren't related.

D: can't see video

EDIT: Oh nvm, I had to turn off video at 'YEAHHHH BOYEEE' anyway.

#22 Posted by Ravenhoe (114 posts) -

What can I say, I have never played a single second of those Guitar / Rock Band crap, way too Huxleyain for me. Everybody who plays those game's is digging the grave for creativity and real music.
As to Kurt Cobain, I am not sure, he propbably would have found it hilarious, he was not that particulary self-conscious about his "counter-cultural" image, judging by his interviews. Anyway, my advice: Pick up guitar lessons, form a band, write songs, have fun, stay away from games like this.

I'm just sick of fake internet outrage.
#24 Posted by Lashe (1266 posts) -

This is so insensitive.

Kurt Cobain killed himself over a videogame.

Damn you, Duke Nukem Forever!

#25 Posted by sgjackson (529 posts) -

This is one of the funniest things I've seen all week.

#26 Posted by Anarchist4Eva (86 posts) -

No opinion on this at all. Cobain was something of a caricature anyway. A talented musician in some respects. But a hopeless drug addict for sure.

#27 Posted by nrain (1274 posts) -

This is plain wrong, if it were a living star who agreed to have his likenesses put in the game singing some shit fair enough, but someoone who's dead is just plain wrong.
#28 Posted by Dauragon (554 posts) -

I have a feeling if Kurt was still around he'd think this was pretty fucking funny.

#29 Posted by Th3_James (2579 posts) -

well when i die, i hope to see myself recreated in a zombie game. Would be nice

Why should playing videogames and playing in a band be mutually exclusive?

Oh god. No.

Yes, seeing the man in black singing "Bring Tha Noize" will be....interesting...
#33 Posted by ryanwho (12082 posts) -

That was great.

#34 Posted by Druminator (1687 posts) -

That looks really stupid. Fuck Nirvana.

#35 Posted by HandsomeDead (11863 posts) -

Seriously, why give a fuck?

#36 Posted by slinky6 (567 posts) -

I hate Nirvana, but this is just ridiculous.   If you can't see why this is fucked up, you're an asshole.

#37 Posted by Zigsfi (10 posts) -

I feel like if this was a Rock Band game, it wouldn't be an issue. The developers of Rock Band seem much more focused on being true to the music, rather than the money. Oh well, won't be buying if Beatles Rock Band is out within a 2 weeks.

#38 Edited by CoolDrMoney (1978 posts) -

The magic at 4:40 makes me rethink this whole Activision ruined the series thing. Seeing reanimated Cobain, Xbox avatars, and a skeleton play funk classics changes everything. Even better when it's two Cobains, silver surfer, and a skeleton.

Oh wait, now I get it. You get past Cobain on vocals, and present Cobain on drums. These Neversoft guys are brilliant.

#39 Posted by CL60 (16906 posts) -

LOL at people complaining over nothing.

And you can use avatars in GH5? :O

#40 Posted by VWGTI (1919 posts) -

lol @ the end

#41 Posted by PureRok (4236 posts) -

Meh. I don't even know who he is.

#42 Posted by Expletive (1057 posts) -

If he were alive he might find it pretty funny, but the fact is he's not so this is pretty fucked.

#43 Edited by skrutop (3615 posts) -

I'm with Jeff on this one.  I was in high school during the grunge and flannel fad when Kurt offed himself, so I can remember how shocked and sad many of my classmates were when they heard.   I'm not outraged or anything, but allowing Kurt to prance around to Stevie Wonder with XBLA avatars is just really damn odd.  It's like those Dirt Devil ads that CGI'd their vacuum to footage of a deceased Fred Astaire dancing around.

#44 Posted by zudthespud (3284 posts) -

They should get 50 cent to sing smells like teen spirit, just to even it out.

#45 Posted by Suicrat (3764 posts) -

Wait, why is it more fucked up that a dude who ended his own life gets his likeness trotted out in a(n admittedly) cheesy way, but not fucked up when they show other dead musicians?

Kurt Cobain was an over-rated whiny bitch. He gave birth to modern emoism, you're going to sit here and try and defend that? Well fuck you, fuck Nirvana, and fuck Kurt Cobain.

And before you go telling me I can't speak ill of the dead, well fuck you a second time, because I have no sympathy for a person who commits suicide. To do so would be a waste of sympathy.

Also, the notion that he represents 90s counter-culture is absolutely fucking insane, he neither represents culture, not counter-culture. He represents death.

#46 Posted by CarpetRemnant (375 posts) -

Kurt Cobain would have found that shit hilarious, he wasn't Thom Yorke.

#47 Posted by clubsandwich (3795 posts) -

wow....

#48 Posted by jakob187 (21762 posts) -

Ladies and gentlemen...let this be a lesson to you:

If you commit suicide, you'll be forced to look stupid by singing Bon Jovi in a Guitar Hero game.

#49 Posted by LCad (269 posts) -

THEY MADE FUN OF KIRK COBLAIN ON FAMILY GUY ONCE OH GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

#50 Posted by Champy (533 posts) -

after watching this great video, i think the game is better. but i still won't buy it.
