Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is another addition to the Guitar Hero series.  It includes a very impressive list of songs to play as well as an improved guitar design.  Loading times and the visuals of Guitar Hero III have been improved quite a bit from the previous series but are nothing too special.  The best part of this game is sitting on the couch and playing the game with your friends.  If you enjoy playing with a plastic guitar instead of a real one, this is the game for you.

Story: 3 Stars – Guitar Hero has a story? Yes it does, and it's the only way to gain more playable songs to the game, besides downloads.  The story is boring and full of random grunts that will make you laugh in the beginning, but make you want to hit someone the more you hear it.  Story has never been that important in Guitar Hero III, and this is not a huge change.

Gameplay: 4.5 Stars – The game runs very smooth and will normally not make you think the game is rigged.  That being said, the new "battle mode" is not fun.  The battle game focuses on attack items that take away from taking out your friend with your superior plastic guitar playing ability.  Still, it's a minor issue but one that deserves to be noted.

Music:  5 Stars – Guitar Hero would be nothing without a good sound track and this is one of the best yet.  Holding over 70 tracks including "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Rock and Roll All Night", this is a truly epic amount of songs to play. Rock on.

Style: 4 Stars – The graphics have been improved quite a bit from the previous game but is still nothing special.  You will probably be too focused on the notes to notice, but the games look could definitely be improved.  Still, it looks nice and makes you feel like you're rocking to a video crowd.

    Bonus Points:

Cult Game: 5 Stars – If you are looking for a game that your friends would like to play or something for a party this is it.  Though the idea of playing a plastic guitar to make sound come out of the TV box sounds stupid, when you play the game with your friends it is pretty fun.  The fact that it is so widespread among different levels of players is what makes this game great.

    Overall: 4 Stars

    Rank: Friend

This game is one of your good friends.  Your buddy may have some flaws, but their hardly noticeable and are outdone by their personality.  Everyone would like to have a new friend, so if you like this style of game or want to try out something different, this is a good choice.

This is the third installment of the Guitar Hero gaming series...It's a pretty good game, though just a bit behind II in the music range but there's enough to make up for it. If you ever played any of the other Guitar Hero games...then this is not too much of a difference other than online play but the soundtrack is still pretty good especially with exclusives like the Halo theme song that will give you both a laugh and also great feel for an addition. It isn't as great as Guitar Hero II's sou...

I'm going to start this review, by taking you back to pre-release. Guitar Hero fans were going nuts, thought it looked awesome.Well, the day of the release it basically said BOOM and every single copy was sold. Even the ones without a guitar, gone. But, I got a hold of one since one store was smart enough to atleast buy in several without a guitar. So, I was happy with that. But, I couldn't play the game. It wouldn't get past the intro, after the intro it would instantly freeze. Well, I went bac...
