In an interview with Swedish news site DN.se, Queen lead guitarist Brian May let it be widely known that a Guitar Hero: Queen type of game is in the works and will apparently hit at some point in 2011. According to MTV Multiplayer, the Swedish writer who nabbed the response seemed to already know that this game was happening, so the question was rather pointed, but May didn't deny it was fact.

hurrah. Shame I'm not the biggest fan of queen.

Brian May is a boss. He's also an astrophysicist. Nevertheless I don't want a Queen game.

ehhh, I hate music games in general now, only because of the pure saturation of the genre made me sick of playing it.

God I hope not, Rock band could do a MUCH better job considering the keyboards and the harmonies. But still I would rather dlc.

Love Queen but absolutely no desire to play this game.

Honestly, I'd rather have Rock Band do a Queen Game. After all, it was a part of their online survey that included Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and The Eagles.

Let's see how much they can fuck this game up :-/

What I'm hoping is that that was just a mistranslation, or the person who wrote that article just assumed Brian May meant Guitar Hero because it's more prominent in Europe than Rock Band, because Rock Band would be such a better fit for a Queen game. Especially since Rock Band has keyboards and harmonies.

As a huge Queen fan, it's disapointing to hear that their dedicated game's coming out of Guitar Hero.  RB3's engine would have been SO good for this.

Would have been an instant buy without seeing anything if it was Rock Band. Seeing as it's guitar hero i'm going to have to wait and see what sort of quality it'll be. Hopefully it'll be mistranslation cause a while ago Brian May said he was in discussions with Harmonix over a Queen themed Rock Band game.

Please be Rock Band, not Guitar Hero. If it's Guitar Hero than I have a problem of patriotics.

Activision is doing what Activision does best. Ruin franchies and run them into the ground. 
 
I gave up on Guitar hero games. Rock Band 3 is where the genre is pushing forward and trying to branch out to everyone instead of adding one new feature each year with a new setlist of music.  
 
Oh and yes, Rock Band NEEDS The Eagles and more Journey. I want to play Life in the Fast Lane and Seperate Ways Dammit.

I really like Guitar Hero but I'll be the first to say without a piano there's no point to this. Furthermore if you're buying a Queen music game it might as well be Singstar: Queen, May's riffs were good, but who wants to be anyone but Freddie in a Queen game?

It would make better sense to have it on RB but RB already has the songs from then that I want so no thank you sir.

Why in the holy mother of fuck does Guitar Hero have to do the Queen game?

While I really wish it were on RB, I can deal with GH as long as they do it right

actually, now that i think about it, this was a terrible idea on anyones part if there's no keyboard in Guitar Hero, when there happens to be one for Rock Band, and Queen likes piano parts.

I'll add my Yawp to the chorus:  Harmonix could do these guys justice with the RB3 features and their level of polish.  Guitar Hero?  The game that decided it needed giant man-pigs as an improvement?  No thanks.

He never said anything about a Guitar Hero game, the writer just came to that conclution because before that quote there was a statement "  Nästa år lanserar Brian May en ny version av datorspelet Guitar her o" And that translates to "Next year Brian May will release a new version of the video game Guitar Hero" 
So Brian May never said Guitar Hero or when its coming out.
