    Notes

    • Gyarados is one of the strongest Pokémon in the game. It has the powerful pool move, with good stats to back it up. Its greatest downfall is its combination of Water and Flying which makes it four times weaker to electric based attacks, and it is completely walled by Pokemon such as Zapdos. Acquiring a Gyarados is done by:
      • Catching one with a Super Rod
      • Leveling a Magikarp up to level 20
      • Gyarados is also the most famous Shiny Pokemon from Generation II games, where a red Gyarados is part of the story, and is the first shiny pokemon seen by most people who played the game.
      • Its prototype name was Skulkraken.
